ALEXANDER N. NACITA, MD
Medical Director
Good evening.

I can still remember when Victor turned 65. I was asked to speak or talk about him. I can no
longer recall what I said but surely, I welcomed him to the club – the club of retirees and
senior citizens.

But Victor did not retire. He continued to serve Central Mindanao University. After five years,
here we are celebrating Victor’s seven decades of a well-lived life and I was requested
again to speak. A few minutes after I accepted the request, I realized I found it difficult
to prepare a message for two minutes. What do I say to a 70 year old friend? Should I
welcome him again to the club of retirees? Should I offer wishes for a happy
retirement? Then, I remembered that he sent me a message last December 21
inquiring about a college and relatives in Cabadbaran City. This will be my focus
tonight.

The message indicated that Glenn recently saw a letter in their Quezon City house from Victor’s
aunt named Dr. Josephine Anino dated June 3, 1992. It listed the descendants of Leon
Amoroso and there was an invitation that she would like to meet Victor.

Victor’s message to me about this letter was “did not think of them in my younger years
probably because I was too busy and did not mind them”. I answered that I would
contact a friend in Cabadbaran City who graduated from NORMI, a privately-owned
college where Dr. Anino worked.

I forwarded my friend’s response to Victor. Dr. Anino passed away in 2013. She had four
children. Her husband and one child are now deceased. There are three children living
in Cabadbaran City with their families.

My first message to Victor is: minimize your involvement in botany and biodiversity or better still
forget these for a while. Your legacy is firmly in place. You have trained biologists like
Fulgent, Florfe and many more and I am sure they have expressed gratitude at having
the opportunity to work with you and the training they have received from you. You are
only a call or text away in case they need your expertise, wisdom and discerning
comments.
Vic, you just do not have relatives in Cabadbaran City. They are also in my hometown,
Buenavista. I also know Nong Leon, the lolo mentioned by Dr. Anino. Another name in
the list is Cayetano Amoroso who became a mayor in my hometown. We called him
Nong Tanoy. Some of his children are also in Buenavista.

The second and last message is: Now that you are older and with a legacy in the academe
and scientific organizations firmly in place, think of your extended family in the
CARAGA region. Do not just mind them. Visit them and based on the letter of Dr. Anino,
they are looking forward to see you.

CLIENT SATISFACTION SURVEY FOR THE AMBULANCE SERVICES
OF ESTHER HOSPITAL IN 2021

The ambulance was used nine times in 2021 to transport patients who were
referred
to other hospitals for additional diagnostic tests and ICU confinement because these
are not
available in Esther Hospital.

Nine patients and/or their watchers were requested to answer a questionnaire

for the
client satisfaction survey. Their answers were collated and analysed. The salient
findings are as follows:

1. The ambulance was found to be excellent in terms of cleanliness by 5

(56%) of the 9 respondents. Three (33%) found the cleanliness to be very
satisfactory while one (11%) found it to be satisfactory. Eight (89%) respondents
rated their ambulance ride as excellent while one (11%) rated the ride as satisfactory.

2. How did the respondents find the personnel? Seven (78%) gave an
excellent rating to the personnel while 2 (22%) rated them as very satisfactory. They
found them to be polite, respectful and professional. Seven (78%) respondents gave
an excellent rating to this statement: “The personnel clearly explained the care and
procedures they provided and they responded to questions.”

3. How did the respondents find the staff who prepared them for transport and
who were with them during transport in the ambulance? Eight (89%) gave an
excellent response when asked how well did the staff work together to care for them.
They also rated as excellent the quality of care provided by the staff.
These are the results of the first client satisfaction survey for ambulance
services. Although the respondents provided a general picture that they found the
services very satisfactory, there is still room for improving the services and the
questionnaire used to evaluate these services.
