Rubber Bitumen Emulsion Flexible, Damp and Vapour-proof
Liquid Membrane Coating.
Product A ready to use, one component bituminous emulsion containing rubber, for the
Description protection and damp proofing of concrete surfaces subject to attack from mild soil
acids and salty water.
Complies with ASTM C-309.
Construction

Uses Sika Bitucoat M is used to protect concrete surfaces that will subsequently be
back filled such as: Retaining walls, Basements and Foundations.
General waterproofing and damp proofing of concrete foundations that are in
contact with groundwater.
Adhesive for insulating boards.
Separation coating for concreting work (bond-breaker).

Advantages Sika Bitucoat M is a simple and economical material, with the following benefits:

Low odour, dries without producing strong vapour.
Unaffected by high ambient temperature (will not soften).
Excellent adhesion to many substrates.
Highly elastic to bridge structural cracks.

Sika Bitucoat M has been tested as per SCAQMD Rule 1168.
Result : VOC Content 0 g/l.

Shelf life 12 months from date of production if stored properly in original unopened packing.

Coverage 0.35 – 0.40 kg/m for 1 coat

0.15 – 0.20 kg/m for 2 coat depending on substrate porosity
Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil and grease.
Dry concrete should be wetted.
Application By brush, roller, or spray by airless gun
Stir thoroughly before use.
Minimum 2 coats are required.

Dilution Add 5-10% of water to 1 coat
Stir to achieve homogeneous consistency of the product.
Time between coats Min. 2 hours (depending on temperature)
Full curing 7 days
Construction
Cleaning Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with soap and water, use
Sika Thinner 2 to dissolve dried material.
Safety Instructions
Ecology It can contaminate water in liquid state, so do not dispose of into water or soil but
according to local regulations.
Transportation Non-hazardous.
Safety Precautions Wear gloves and goggles.
Toxicity Non-toxic.
