Maintenance Standard
Objective
The Maintenance Standard states that the equipment used in the Slickline operation must be in fit for
purpose, maintained and be in compliance with Industry and Company Standards
The Maintenance Standard outlines the process steps to achieve the goal of zero lost time due to equipment
failure through the application of a proactive preventative maintenance program.
Slickline equipment is expected to operate safely, accurately, efficiently and without failure. To achieve this
vision will require trained base personnel and the active involvement of field personnel in identifying and
reporting equipment failure and maintenance related issues.
Scope
This standard applies to all Slickline tools and equipment assigned to operations and used in the provision of
services to Clients.
Definitions
Equipment Equipment are unique physical items which require maintenance, certifying
and tracking and are identifiable with a unique serial number
Maintenance Preventative maintenance is a planned event for equipment, the frequency
and requirements of these events are defined by the equipment suppliers in
the documentation specific to the equipment
QHSE Data Capture System
Web based event, incident, hazard identification data capture and reporting
system.
Asset Management System (AMS)
All activity, including reception, operations, maintenance and certification for
all assets will be tracked in a web based Asset Management System (AMS),
which will be used to schedule maintenance, repairs and re-certification as
well as providing support to operations planning. Latest copies of records
(maintenance, repairs and re-certifications) will also be stored in the AMS.
Roles & Responsibilities
Management
Management are responsible for the implementation of the Maintenance Standard, ensuring all employees
comply with its provisions whilst ensuring the Maintenance Standard remains effective and current.
Field Supervisors and Field Crews
Field Supervisors and Field crews are responsible for reporting the condition of all equipment accurately,

which must include all equipment failures and potential equipment issues which may arise as the result of
field operations.
Slickline Maintenance Manager
Will verify and ensure the Maintenance Standard is implemented correctly and adhered to by all personnel as
well as providing technical assistance and support to the maintenance team.
Maintenance Personnel
Are responsible for performing maintenance and repairs according to the instructions provided by Equipment
Manufacturers. Maintenance personnel are also responsible for accurately recording the details of all
maintenance and repairs performed and to ensure that all events are recorded and uploaded to the AMS
Applicable Equipment
Slickline equipment is supplied by independent manufacturers who are required to provide within the
delivered document package their recommended maintenance procedures which Maintenance Staff will
adhere to and rigorously apply.
All Slickline equipment which is assigned a unique serial number and is tracked for maintenance and / or
certification is considered an asset and is subject to the provisions of the Maintenance Standard
Reception
All new equipment will be subject to a reception procedure and as part of the reception process the
equipment will be entered into the AMS for maintenance and certification tracking and an asset history folder
will be created.
Preventive Maintenance Program
All maintenance events must be documented and records retained and stored in the equipment asset history
folders
Pre-job Equipment Inspections and Checks
A thorough inspection of the equipment, checking for damage or wear, function checks on engines, hydraulic
systems and moving assemblies, lubricating and greasing components, inspecting seals and replacing if
required.
Pre-job equipment inspections and checks are performed in the base prior to mobilisation to the field or in
the field in between jobs or daily during extended operations and they are the responsibility of the Field Crew
assigned to the operation.
Three monthly Workshop Maintenance
Standard scheduling is every three months, but during periods of high equipment usage the three monthly
workshop maintenance event frequency will be shortened to ensure the preventative maintenance program
remains effective and will identify and prevent failures before they occur.
The three monthly Workshop Maintenance event is deeper than the pre-job equipment inspections and
checks and is usually conducted in the workshop with both maintenance staff and the field crew involved.

All equipment is checked for damage or wear, function checks made on engines, hydraulic systems and
moving assemblies, lubricating and greasing components, inspecting seals and replacing if required. Critical
components are stripped, inspected and parts replaced in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance
instructions. Engine oil and filters replaced.
A complete equipment certification review is made, with a focus on lifting equipment, lifting accessories, PCE,
vehicle documentation and calibrations of measuring and recording equipment, with the Unit Rig Book being
updated to reflect any changes.
Annual maintenance
The annual maintenance event consists of detailed inspections and checks of a complete Slickline unit suit of
equipment.
The event is a workshop event undertaken by the maintenance staff, with some involvement of the field
crews.
The annual maintenance event is the main recertification event for the majority of the equipment set, it is an
internal maintenance event in which generated certification and documentation is signed off by trained and
competent personnel.
Vehicles, Winch, Powerpack, Unit Accessories and Hydraulic Systems – a deep maintenance procedure as
detailed by the manufacturer’s operations and maintenance manual, which will involve disassembling
components, replacement of recommended parts and seals.
Pressure Control equipment (PCE) – a complete strip down of all components, a thorough inspection of all
components and replacement of any damaged or worn parts, replacement of all seals and elastomers,
hydrostatic body pressure test to test pressure and function checks on moving systems at working pressure.
Re-issue of pressure test certificates and charts.
Downhole Tools – a complete strip, inspection and replacement of damaged or worn parts.
Documents and Records
All maintenance, either undertaken in the workshop or in the field will be documented with records retained
in a storage medium with limited and controlled access
All maintenance records will be retained as soft copy documents, a copy will be uploaded to the AMS
database and one copy retained in the asset history file on the company server.
Hard copies will be available in each Unit Book and in the maintenance daily record system for a minimum of
12 calendar months.
