Module 2 INTERGRATION

Statistics are important for psychological tests because numbers and scores must be interpreted meaningfully. Converting raw scores to standard scores allows professionals to determine what a score means in terms of being above or below average. The properties of measurement scales are vital because the level of measurement determines which analysis techniques can be used. Norms are also important in psychological testing because they allow test scores to be compared to relevant population groups.

Standard scores or more commonly referred to as z-score, it is allow us to determine or calculate the
probability of score occuring.

It is significant to convert raw scores to standard scores to the certain value of that scores. For instance,
if I would get 35 in exam, what does 35 signifies? It is below or above the mean? Does it mean I excel in
exam, and my classmate did poorly?

By converting raw scores to standard score those questions will surely answered.

1. Explain why the properties of scales are vital in the field of measurement.

Measurement refers to the assignment of numbers in a meaningful way (Britannica Encyclopedia) They
are important because they are crucial aspect of research and statistics, because the level of data
measurement is what determines the data analysis model or technique to be used.

2. Why is the use of norms in psychological testing so important?

Psychological Testing is commonly imported from other countries, and it cost 3k-75k according to Avila
and Nicomedes the two outstanding researchers in Gateresearch I believe. A psychometrician is only
