Advanced IR Spectroscopy Guide

FTIR spectroscopy uses the interference of infrared light that has passed through a sample to determine the sample's molecular composition. It works by splitting a beam of infrared light into two beams that travel different optical path lengths before recombining, producing an interference pattern. This pattern contains information about the wavelengths of light absorbed by the sample. FTIR is accurate, non-destructive, and provides information about chemical bonds and molecular structure of the sample.
