CONCEPT, OBJECTIVE AND NEED OF EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

Educational institutions function in a constantly changing environment. This means that they must
constantly identify and implement improvements in their own operating systemand infrastructure.
Management of educational institutions is concerned with the day-to-day operations of educational
institutions. The origins of the development of educationalmanagement as a field of study can be
traced back to the early twentieth century in theUnited States. Despite this, development in the
United Kingdom did not begin until the1960s. Educational management is a type of management
that operates in educationalinstitutions, as the name implies. In order to impart knowledge, attitude,
and skills tostudents, education is defined as the provision of a series of learning experiences
tostudents with the ultimate goal of preparing them to be productive members of [Link],
says Henry Fayol, "involves the forecasting and planning of events, theorganisation of
people, the commanding of troops, the coordination of activities, theexercise of control."
Management, according to Fayol, is a process comprised of fivefunctions, including planning,
organising, commanding, coordinating, and controllingactivities. Thus, educational
management is defined as the type of management thatassists in the process of planning,
organising, directing, and controlling the activities ofan institution in order to accomplish the
functions of education in teaching, extensionwork, and research by utilising the human and material
resources in the most efficientmanner. As a result, educational management is concerned with
institutions (schools andcolleges), human resources (teaching and non-teaching staff, students,
parents, and otherstakeholders), material resources (infrastructure, equipment, and so on),
rules,regulations, and policies, as well as society. It contributes to the achievement
