Explanations
The various ways of filing technical documents as provided in DIN 821 Part 1 - Files
and folders, dimensions - have made it necessary to revise the 1956 edition of DIN 824.
As thesametime consideration was also given to developments in the field of mechanical
folding.
ISORC 10BC 1 has started work on the subject of the folding of technical drawings.
This work will be dealt with in close conjunction with I S 0 5457. The discussion on
draft DIN I S 0 5457 ’Technical drawings; formats and design of preprinted drawing
sheets” has still not been concluded owing to the rejection of the IS0 Standard by
Germany and some other countries. This standard therefore refers to DIN 823. The
standard on preprinted drawing sheets now in preparation will probably not have any
repercussionson this standard.
