Horizontal and Vertical Back Description of Changes
“Under 18 until MM-DD-YYYY” and “Under 21 until MM-
DD-YYYY” will continue to be printed as applicable on the
enhanced cards.
The organ donor logo will be printed directly on the cards.
Organ donor stickers will still be valid if residents add
their name to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry after
they receive their enhanced card.
The issue date now appears on the front of the enhanced
cards.
The date of birth is located directly below the driver’s
license number and a second date of birth displays at the
Front Laminates top of the second or “ghost” image.
A multicolor view of the Mackinac Bridge was added to
the front laminate that can be seen when the card is held
at an angle.
The card is equipped with the latest technology to speed
up border crossing and deter fraud. The machine
readable zone serves as a backup resource for verifying
identity and citizenship.
Tricolor OVD (Optically Variable Device)
The magnetic stripe on the back is identical to Michigan’s
current magnetic stripe.
The 1-D barcode is now located at the top of the card and
includes the driver’s license or state ID number, date of
birth and expiration date.
A 2-D barcode is now available that includes full legal
name, date of birth, date of issue, expiration date,
address, gender, driver’s license or state ID number,
issuing jurisdiction, card design revision date and an
inventory control number.
