SUBJECT: DiagnosticLink Programming
ISSUE
Errors have been reported after reprogramming with DiagnosticLink. The following are some of
the error complaints and instructions for how they should be addressed.
What should I do before flashing?
Before reprogramming any module, make sure to reference Freightliner Service Bulletin 54-308. The
bulletin provides instructions on how to properly reprogram. It is important to follow each step.
Missing steps may result in reprogramming errors and active fault codes.

The Common Telematics Platform (cTP) is causing incompatibility errors when
trying to flash. Now what should I do?
It is recommended to configure DiagnosticLink to only connect to "Default modules”. Keep this
setting unless a manual connection to cTP is required for cTP registration, or for troubleshooting
purposes. The default modules will allow DiagnosticLink to connect only to the modules that require
reprogramming and ignore things like cTP, or the Steering Angle Sensor. To make this change in
DiagnosticLink:
1. Open DiagnosticLink and click Tools > Options > Connection.
2. Click Select Defaults.
3. Click Apply.

My Integrated Predictive Powertrain Control (IPPC) isn't reconnecting now that
I've flashed. What should I do next?
In some cases, the IPPC may not connect after modules have been reprogrammed. If this occurs,
faults related to the IPPC not roll calling will be displayed and will not be visible under the "Common"
tab of the "Identification" screen. To resolve this:
1. Disconnect DiagnosticLink and cycle the ignition off for 30 seconds and back on again.
2. Perform the ignition cycle three times.
3. Reconnect DiagnosticLink
You should now see the IPPC roll calling, and most of the codes relating to IPPC communication
should be inactive.
Why do I see Missing Server Data for the DCMD02T/DCMP02T or HVAC_R01T
modules?
If the vehicle has older Door Control Modules (DCM) then missing server data for these
components is normal as these parts are not programmable, thus no server data will be
present. (P/Ns: A66-01126-000 Driver or A66-01128-000 Passenger)
If the vehicle is a "Day Cab" and the server data is missing for the rear HVAC (HVAC_R01T),
then this would also be considered normal, as Day Cabs do not have rear HVAC units.
I'm missing factory programming for other chassis modules needing to be
flashed. What should I do?
If this occurs, and it is not related to the modules listed above, you'll need to contact Daimler Trucks
Technical Support, with a request to "Reprocess" the original vehicle data. The request can be made
via Phone, or the DTTS web-forms.

I just programmed my modules and now I see; "...incompatible software
versions." messages. What should I do?
If you've just programmed using DL and are seeing the message:
“The connected vehicle contains chassis devices with incompatible software versions. You will need
to update these control devices using Program Device. Click here for more information”
Follow these steps:
1. Click on the message and see what devices need to be programmed.
2. Program all the devices listed to their latest software versions
If a device has already been programmed in the current session and it is still showing up in the
compatibility table then follow these steps:
1. Take a quality screenshot or PDF of the devices
2. Contact Daimler Trucks Technical Support by phone or web-form and be sure to attach the
image or PDF file showing the list of components.
