QUESTION 1

You are required to use Microsoft excel spreadsheet program for this question.

a) Open a new worksheet and change the page layout to landscape. [1]
b) Type your name, examination number and school name in the header. [2]
c) Type the data as shown in the worksheet below. [4]

i. Identify the active cell and change it to 10. [1]


ii. Type the title “COMPUTER EQUIPMENTS” in cell A1 and merge and center through cell
H1. [2]
iii. Type the formula in cell H3 to calculate the average number of printers over six
months. [2]
iv. Replicate the formula from H3 through H7. [2]
v. Change the font attributes of the title to forte 15 bold. [1]
vi. Delete column F. [1]
vii. In cell B9 type the formula used to calculate the total number of items purchased in JAN
up to JUNE. [2]
viii. Show formula and save. [1]
QUESTION 2

You are required to use Microsoft word for this question

a) Open a blank word processing document and type in your name, examination number and
school name in the header. [2]
b) Type in the text below in an arranged manner with a font size of 12pts and font face Times new
roman. [10]

Basic elements of a computer system


1. Input – this is the producing of results after processing it.
2. Process – this is the entering of data into a computer system.
3. Storage – this is the transformation of data into information.
4. Output – this is the location in the computer system where data is kept.

i. Capitalize and change the font size for the main title to 20pts and font face to Algerian.

ii. Make bold and capitalize the words input, output, processing and storage with a font
size of 16. [3]
iii. Underline the title of the document including the words input, output, processing and
storage. [2]
iv. Create a folder with your name on the desktop and save. [2]
