Findings on Filipino Women's Fiction

This section summarizes a study analyzing representations of women in 8 contemporary Philippine short stories. It finds that the women characters display narcissistic tendencies and characteristics of being in love, influenced by their experiences and relationships. The conclusion is that some qualities of the women characters still reflect today's Filipino women, and the short stories can expose realities of life. A lesson exemplar in the appendix provides ways to use literature to understand identities and people.
