Recycling in Beckwith
Why recycle?
Recycling waste products is important. The volume of waste produced in the UK is
increasing all the time and local landfill sites are getting full. Recycling is a good way
of helping the environment and using less energy.
What can you do?
Residents in Beckwith can help by carefully sorting waste products into one of the
three coloured bins. Items which cannot be recycled should be placed in the black
bin, which will be collected every two weeks.
You can put the following in your blue bin:
• cardboard and paper
• glass bottles and jars
• plastic containers
• tin cans
• batteries.
You can put the following in your brown bin:
• grass cuttings
• leaves
• garden waste.
Please note:
1. Clothes should be taken to the local recycling centre (see Beckwith council
website for details).
2. Building materials should not be placed in any of the bins.
See [Link] for details of blue and brown bin collection days.
