Q1. Why do you want to study in the UK?

/ Why UK instead of studying in

your home or another country?
These are all the reasons, why I want to study in UK. Firstly, UK has an amazing academic reputation
and quality of education. The quality of education in the UK is so good that its degree is recognized
worldwide. UK has a history of over 800 years with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
According to the QS World Ranking 2023, 16% of the world's top 100 universities are in the UK. UK
universities are regularly inspected by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).

 UK is a multicultural and multi-faith country where all religions are welcomed with open arms.
 The UK is the second most popular country for study destination in the world.
 UK offers postgraduate programs for one year and undergraduate programs for three years.
 The WHO ranked the UK 5th for the excellent health care system.
 Weather condition in UK is quiet friendly and tolerable.
 The visa process in UK is easy as compared to other countries.
 Furthermore, I can develop excellent language skills while studying in the UK.

Why not Other Countries?

There are several reason why I did not choose other countries……..

 Duration of master degree in USA, Canada and Australia is 2 years.

 Countries like Canada and Australia offered 30% scholarship to their international
students.
 Living in the USA and Canada quietly expensive. Like I need 1500 USA dollar and
2500 Canadian dollar for a month.
 Winters in Canada are so severe that it is very difficult for people like me to live.
 USA visa ratio is not good.

Why not my own country Pakistan?

Pakistan is still following the old and outdated education system. It lacks uniformity in
educational institutions and still provides education without direction. Pakistan follows poor
standards of examination system and supervision. There is also a shortage of quality teachers
in Pakistan.
Question 2: Why University of the West of Scotland (London campus)?
I have researched on the internet, the first thing that draws me to UWS University is its location,
located in the historic London Docklands, which is an interesting and dynamic place to spend
my free time. Also UWS University provides everything that other universities lack. I choose
this university course because its modules and infrastructure enhance my professional skills
which is only possible at UWS University. UWS is one of the most modern and innovative
universities in the country.

UWS won an award in 2022 for Higher Education Institution. UWS is officially recognized as
one of the top 600 universities worldwide. UWS is in the top 150 of the best universities in the
world that are 50 years old or younger. 90% of students are satisfied with their UWS education.
97% of graduate students land a job in their desired field within six months of graduation. The
university provides high-quality career-relevant education and 90% of research at UWS is
internationally recognized. Another reason to choose this university is that the teachers are very
professional and cooperative. There is also a wide range of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and
independent music venues around the university such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall
and the Royal Opera House.

Question 3: Which other institutions did you consider?

I researched 2 universities besides UWS, BPP University, and University of Westminster. I
didn't consider BPP University because this university didn't offer my course in May. In turn
UWS offers this course in May intake. Another reason for not consider BPP is because its
modules are more related to digital management than accounting and finance and some
modules are repeated in my first degree such as Advanced Taxation, Advanced Financial
Management, Strategic Business Reporting, Data driven decision for business. The main
reason for not complying with BPP, its admission criteria, for me to gain admission in Master
degree I must complete Bachelor from BPP University or I must have 8 exemptions from
ACCA.

I didn't even consider the University of Westminster because the fee for an international student
is £19000 pounds which I can't afford. Also University of Westminster did not offer this course
in May intake. Also, all the modules are similar to UWS, so I prefer to study the same modules
for £14500 pounds rather than £19000 pounds and I don't have to wait for September intake to
come.
Question 4: What programs are you planning to study at UWS? Can
you tell me about the course structure and modules?
I will study MSc Accounting and Finance full time at UWS London. The MSc A&F will not
only enhance my knowledge but also allow me to develop both personal and professional
attributes that will benefit me in the workplace. UWS offers the best combination of modules
I want to study:

 Accounting for Performance and Control (20 credits)

 Audit, Ethics and Corporate Governance (20 credits)
 Corporate Finance and Global Financial Market (20 credits)
 Financial Modelling and Research Methodology (20 credits)
 International Corporate Reporting (20 credits)
 Strategic Financial Management and Analysis (20 credits)
 Strategic Business Project (optional, 60 credits)

The program at UWS will be taught through a combination of both online and in-person classes
using a virtual learning platform module, including

 Lectures
 Tutorials
 Practical workshops

Assessment methods will include:

 Written reports
 Class tests
 Coursework
 Essay
The quality of teaching at UWS is as good as it is recognized with a silver award in the TEF.
(Teaching Excellence Framework) The duration of this course is 1 year. This course will start
from May 2023 and will end on May 2024.
Question 5: Why did you choose this program? / How the course will
benefit you for future career?
My goal in life is to become a chartered accountant. My previous degree and experience related
to this course so I have the basic knowledge but I have not learned how to implement it. Now
by studying this course I will learn how to implement in real world. I have to complete this
course to become a Chartered Accountant. This course is the first step to achieve my future
goal. This course will help me learn how to analyze financial records and provide information,
such as financial reporting, taxation, corporate finance, business restructuring, and bankruptcy.
I will also learn how to audit accounts and give financial advice to save money and increase
profits.
