Wird Awrad of Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Idris v6

Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Idris was given special spiritual teachings and prayers directly from the Prophet Muhammad and Shaykh Al-Khidr in a visionary experience. The Prophet instructed Al-Khidr to teach Ibn Idris supplications that contained all forms of remembrance of God, prayers for blessings on the Prophet, and prayers for forgiveness. The Prophet said these prayers were superior to all others and equal in reward to repeating all good deeds in the world many times over. Ibn Idris then transmitted these litanies and supplications, which were compiled in the document.

AHMAD DABBAGH

The Litanies of Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Idris

BACKGROUND
An incident between
Sayyiduna Ahmad Al-Khidr ‫قدس سره العزيز‬

& Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Idris ‫قدس سره العزيز‬

Shaykh Ahmad Ibn Idris became, in his own words, “a firm adept on the path” at
the hands of his Shaykh, Shaykh Abul Qasim Al-Wazir. After the latter’s death,
Ibn Idris saw the Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬and Al-Khidr in a wakeful state. The
Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬ordered Al-Khidr to implant in him the adhkar of the Shadhiliyya
order, which he did in the presence of the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬. Then the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬
turned to Al-Khidr and said,

“O Khadir, teach him that which combines within it all the adhkar, sala-
wat, and prayers for forgiveness, and is superior as to reward, larger as to
number, more exalted in worth and greater in obtaining assistance.”

Al-Khidr asked him ‫ﷺ‬, “What is that, O Prophet of Allah?”

Then, the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said the prayers that would become the supplications of
Ahmad Ibn Idris, and Al-Khidr repeated them, and then Ibn Idris repeated them
after the both of them.

Then the Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬said:

“O Ahmad, you have been given the keys to the heavens and earth, which
are the dhikr, the salawaat (on the Prophet), and the prayer for the for-
giveness of sins. If you say them once, they are equal to the world and
what is in it many times over.”
