show hosts in the Philippines, and he hosts both
entertainment and public affairs shows. He is frequently
referred to as the King of Talk in the Philippines

Background Famously known as Boy Abunda was born in Borongan,


Eastern Samar on October 29, 1955. Although Abunda is a
practicing Catholic and devoted follower of Mary, he is
openly gay and opposes the Church's position on
homosexuality. He also supports LGBT rights and same-
sex marriage. As everyone refers to him, "Tito Boy," he has
become the pinnacle of the Filipino talk show host.

Invaluable Contribution to He has been successful in establishing a standard for


Society hosting that is founded on accuracy and utility. Boy Abunda
finds the truth behind every story, the humanity of each star
he speaks with, and, as he puts it on his well-known show,
"the bottom line" of every topic he covers in the sometimes-
superficial world of show business. He is a talk show host
who handles the numerous topics he encounters by
balancing his heart and mind.

tribe of Kalinga.

Background Apo Whang-od comes from a line of tattooists known as


mambabatok, who were paid with rice and water buffalos
for permanent symbols of valor, grace, or fertility. When
she was 15 years old, Whag-ay, a well-known
mambabatok from the Kalinga village of Ngibat, gave her
her first tattoo. But it was Apo Whang-od’s father who
taught her the art and skill of batek at 18 (Potpot, 2014).

Invaluable Contribution to Her tattoos are a representation of the vibrant culture of the
Society province of Kalinga in the far north of the Philippines. In
fact, a lot of people go ten hours to the mountains in the
chilly weather simply to get tattooed by her. She also
tattooed the skin of tribeswomen, who are regarded as
having beautiful and elegant tattoos (Dumaraos, 2017).
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts honored
her and acknowledged her contributions, especially for
raising awareness of Filipino culture and the ancient
practice of tattooing. She was also put forth for the National
Living Treasures Award for her efforts in developing and
conserving Kalinga tattooing culture.

Special Skills/Talent Mabini was referred to be the revolution's brains and


conscience because of his formidable intelligence,
political astuteness, and oratory skills.

Occupation Revolutionary leader, educator, lawyer, and statesman


who served first as a legal and constitutional adviser to
the Revolutionary Government, and then as the first
Prime Minister of the Philippines upon the establishment
of the First Philippine Republic.

Background Mabini, also referred to as "the Brains of the


Revolution," was a prominent Filipino revolutionary hero
who was born on July 22, 1864, in Tanauan, Batangas
(Staff Writer, 2020). Mabini was the second of eight kids
reared by his parents Inocencio Mabini and Dionisia
Maranan, a market vendor and an illiterate farmer,
respectively. Apolinario Mabini was born to dirt-poor
parents, but he never let poverty become a hindrance in
making his own success story ([Link]).

Invaluable Contribution to Apolinario Mabini devoted his life to achieving Filipino


Society freedom from the rule of the Spanish. He provided a
simple structure of government for the Philippines during
the Second Phase of the Philippine Revolution. He was
the most faithful supporter of the Revolution and the
independence of the Philippines. He developed the
fundamentals of a democratic popular government,
giving the Filipino people's historical uprisings a cogent
ideological foundation ([Link]). He is a
person who is viewed as a pioneer and a visionary for
the advancement of the Filipinos during the Spanish
colonial period.
