Investigating Inertia: Science 8 Task

The document provides instructions for an experiment to demonstrate Newton's first law of motion, also known as the law of inertia. Students are asked to observe what happens when a cardboard is slowly pulled or quickly flicked while holding a glass and coins. They are also asked to observe what happens when the bottom coin in a stack is hit with a ruler. The students then answer questions about their observations and explanations relating to how objects at rest stay at rest and objects in motion stay in motion unless acted upon by an external force.

cardboard plastic ruler
1 peso coin

Procedure
Coin Drop
