Today, India has been more and more developement country into
business area. village people has to attractive at city increase in india’s
progress. There is no exaggeration to say that where there is a rhythmic
combination of theroretical knowledge & practical experience the success
of company. India is holding good position in producing and using 2

federal Mogul & AE.

THE PROJECT
ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of wet & dry cylinder
liners, air-cooled blocks and custom made casting parts for automobile and
industrial engines. The owner of the company had established his business
in 1976 as KISHAN MANUFACTURER at Bapunagar, GIDC, Rajkot. Then
the ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2005. The company is
having an ISO-9001:2000 certificate from the TUV since 2005. Over the
last 30 years their production capacity has increased from 4,000 cylinder
liners per month to 70,000 currently. The company is having a total
working strenth of 200 employs in various divisions having well
experienced and technically qualified personnel company guarantees the
product.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The objective of the project are as under:
They have proprietary process developed in-house to produce
highest quality of centrifugal casting.
They have developed over 800 different types of wet & dry cylinder
liners
& air-cooled blocks for LCV, HCV, Marine Engines, Stationary
Engines, Compressors, 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers & industrial engines.

HISTORY
In 1976, Established plant as a KISHAN Manufacturer at Bapunagar,
GIDC, Rajkot.
In 1991 : As a KISHAN Manufacturer at Aji industrial area, Rajkot.
In 2003 :As a ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd., at Metoda GIDC, Rajkot.
Esteem Auto Pvt. Ltd., Manufacturing facility is located at Rajkot in
India. It consists of three 300 kgs. Induction furnaces, Two oil furnaces &
a cupola furnaces. Their total casting capacity is over 500 tons per
month.
They have proprietary process developed in-house to produce
highest quality of centrifugal casting . Their goal at ESTEEM Auto Pvt.
Ltd. is to ensure the highest quality of their products & to attain that
they follow rigorous quality assurance process.
They have invested in equipment like various special gauges,
roughness, tester coating measuring meter, slip gauge, height gauge,
ferro lab, metallugical microscop & spectrometer from spectromaxx
germany to help our QA team do the best.
The company is having an ISO – 9001 : 2000 certificate from the
TUV since 2005. Over the last 30 years their production capacity has
increased from 4,000 cylinder liners per month to 70,000 currently.
Their range of liner includes Toyata, Nissan, Mazda, Cummins,
Mercedes, Komatsu, Hino, Caterpillar Yanmar, Kubota, Mitsubishi, Isuzu

DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPANY
The company was first started in 1976 as KISHAN Manufacturer at
Bapunagar, GIDC, Rajkot with plant area of 200 square mtrs., Products
were liner & sleeve, manufacturing facility was only a machine shop with
a capacity of 4,000 nos. per month.
Then In 1991 an another unit KISHAN Manufacturer was established
at Aji industrial area, Rajkot with plant area of 2200 square mtrs.,
Products were same liner & sleeve, manufacturing facility were foundry &
machine shop with a capacity of 25,000 nos. per month. Then later in
2003 the ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd. was established at Metoda, GIDC,
Rajkot.
Thus, the company started with a small unit & Today it has
developed into a vast company.
SIZE OF THE UNIT
The size of the firm is important print to be discussed. The size of
the unit help us to decide the managerial activities. We can also know
the capacity and ability of work from its size. If the size of the firm is
largew with investment in fixed assets. They can easy adopt new
technology whereas for small – scale. It is very difficult to adopt new

ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd., is a small – scale industries. Small – scale
industry is an industry in which the investment in it’s fixed assets does
not exceed Rs. 25 lakh. The established of initial investment is of Rs.
3,00,000 which show us that it is a small – scale industry.
Inspite, of being small – scale industry. It has adopted the latest
technology & has used it fully. All though it is a small – scale it has
monopoly over all the cylinder & liners industries in Saurashtra.
ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd., is working at a city level. The firm is
working with an objective of profit motive get it has then fulfilling the
motive to serve the society.
Thus, the development of different forms of organization leads to
the development of the country’s economic as both are interconnected.

DUTY & FUNCTION OF STAFF
Duty of staff :
In ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd., the characteristic feature of staff
organisation is that line officials do administrative work as usual but they
are assisted by the experts. This group of experts is known as ‘staff’.
The legal adviser gives advice to the sales manager, personal manager
& purchase officer,etc. in the matters pertaining to their functions.
The word ‘staff’ means a stick carried in the hand for support. This
emphasises the main feature of staff activity which is to aid & advice.
Function of staff :
The discussion so far creates the impression that staff plays only
an advisory role. There are other functions of the staff over and above
that of advising.
The planning and controllong departments carry out the function of
achiving co-ordination among different departments.
TIME KEEPING SYSTEM
The time system of workers as well as officers are playing a vital
role in any or if this system’s management is powerful then there will a
reflect result in production capacity, demand for the product, inventor
conversion period, credit of a company & also in customer relation. The
time schedule of officers & workers are as under

Sometimes in situation of peak demand the workers are asked to
work for overtime also. The overtime duration is generally for 12 hours.

ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd. follows the following organizational chart
for better management of personnel department.
Organisation is a group of people working toghether co – opratively
under authority & responsibility towards the achievement of goal &
objective. It means organisation stucture deals with the over all
organisation arrangement in firm. Here organisation is consistof the
assignment of specific function to designated person or department with
authority to have them carried out provided function described by chief
executive.
PERSONAL RECORD OF EMPLOYEE
Employees hold a key place in business. No business enterprise
can exist & function without employees. The success of business
enterprise depends to a large extent on the quality of its personnel. The
plan of business may be logically sound and structure of organisation
may be perfect, but if the recruitment & training of personnel are
unscientific, business can not grow. The growth of business depends
mainly on the willingless and ability of its employees.
Personnel management is a part of management. It is concerned
with human relations. It is concerned with procurement, development and
maintenance of a satisfactory & satisfied labour force through recruitment,

TRADE UNION
The employees are paid 8.33 % bonus of their rasic salary once in
every year.
Trade union or labour union is a continuous & voluntary association
of the salary earners or wages earners. In this unit workers are very
less so trade union does not enter in it. Further all the reasonable
demand of workers are duly considered & fulfilled by the management of
ESTEEM industries. Thus industrial relation is in the unit is very good.
RECRUITMENT & SELECTION
Recruitment :
Production planning is required for smooth functioning of the
production work, similarly it is necessary to make an estimate of the
number of employees that would be requiredin different departments. The
figures representing the differences between future requirements &
available talent.
The next step is filling up employment requisition by the head of
the department where the vacancies arise. It is the duty of the personnel
manager constantly to keep in touch with the sources of labour supply
so that suitable employees may be appointed as promptly as possible.
In ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd. a list of a major sources of labour supply is

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
It is important for the management to know the outcome of training
development. It must be determined whether the programmes have been
successful or not.
ESTEEM Auto Pvt. Ltd. suggested levels at which evalution can take
place :
The training programme is evaluted on the basis of the reactions of
trainees in respect of matters covered by the training programme.
Trainer’s ability to train etc. can be evaluted on the basis of the extent
to which the trainees have learnt, the time period within which they have
learnt. It is the overall effect on the organisation as a whole in the form
of increased productivity, improved quality, increased morale of the
employees, increase in total sales etc. that will determine the usefulness
of training programme. It should achieve the goals of individual
employees for personal development & social goal of maximum social
benefit.
If productivity has increased & total production has increased as a
result, it can be concluded that the training programme has been
successful.
The scope of management development is divided into three areas

( III ) attitude development
The development of all the three components will lead to all round
development of the total personality of trainees.
( I ) The horizon of knowledge is fast expanding. There is great

WAGES & SALARY
It is the prime duty of the firm to pay proper & reasonable amount
to the workers for their services. The wages of the labour depends upon
the number of unit that is produced by them.
Generally the wages range from the production units per day in the
firm. Every year there is an increase in the salary of clerical depending
on the work efficiency of employee and the demand of employee.
Salaries are paid on every first of the monthly. The amount of
provident fund, E. S. I. Income law etc. is deducted from salary as
applicable as per low.

wet and dry cylinder liners and air – cooled blocks for LCV, HCV, Marine
Engines, Stationary Engines, Compressors, 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers &
industrial engines. Their range of liner includes Toyota, Nissan, Mazda,
Cummins, Mercedes, Komatsu, Hino, Caterpillar, Yanmar, Kubota,
Mitsubishi, Isuzu etc.

major observation of the company that its work is very bright and hard,
it will progress more in coming years because workers are working very
sincerely. Their industrial relation is also very good because of the main

cylinder liners, air cooled blocks & custom made casting parts for
automobile & industrial engines. They have proprietary process developed
in – house to produce highest quality of centrifugal casting. Their goal at
Esteem Auto Pvt. Ltd. is to ensure the highest quality of their products
and to attain that they follow rigorous tester , coating , measuring meter ,
slip gauge , height gauge , Ferro lab, metallurgical microscope and
Spectrometer from spectromaxx Germany to help their QA team do the
best.

productivity and profitability and exporting their goods in all over the
world one of their dream is that to provide best quality at a reasonable
price to their customers by this way. They have to capture the market of
