2. Brief Description of the Course

This course provides the manager's perspective in the fields of international payments,
international trade, and the analysis of investments. Emphasis is given to the materials and
concepts that illuminate the strategies, structure, practices, and effects of multinational
enterprises. The topics to be covered are: The Nature of International Business Management;
Marketing to Customers with Diverse Cultural Backgrounds; Operations in Diverse Political
and Legal Environments; Finance in the International Marketplace; Human Resources and
Employees of Diverse Cultural Backgrounds; and Strategy and Structure of International or
Global Enterprises.

 Class Participation
Active participation from the students in class discussion is highly encouraged in order to
make the comprehension better. This will not only improve their communication skills but
also will be fundamental in enhancement of their confidence and problem-solving skills. For
this a special class debate session will be planned on regular basis on the topic under
discussion and groups will present opposing point of view and defend their point of view
through valid arguments in this debate. Every student will get a chance to present her point of
view.

 Project Instructions
A group of 3-4 students will be formulated for the project. Every group will be assigned an
international business organization. The group will study functions of international business
management in the areas of managing political risk, negotiations, planning, organizing
international operations, decision making and controlling, the mode of international market
entry, the scope of operations, the international logistics, and financial management. The
group will then formulate a report and slides for presentation and would deliver the contents in
front of class. The time allocated for presentation would be 15-20 minutes for each group.
Every member of the group is required to appear in presentation. In case any member is not
present; he/she will get 0 in presentation.
 Assignments
Approximately 4 assignments shall be given during the semester. The graded assignments shall
be returned within a week. The assignments shall clearly reflect the indigenous work of the
student. Plagiarism is not allowed which may result in cancellation of an assignment, in
addition to reporting the matter to the management for appropriate action.

 Discussion on Respective Faculty’s Research Papers


Relevant research papers will be given for reading, analysis and class discussion.

 Quiz Policy
Approximately 2 quizzes shall be given during the semester i.e. one quiz shall be planned
before midterm exam and one quiz after midterm exam. The quizzes shall preferably be
unannounced. The duration of each quiz shall be about 10-15 minutes. No make-ups will be
offered for missed quizzes. The graded quizzes shall be returned in the next week.

 Final and Midterm Papers (General Guidelines)


A revision and paper discussion session shall be planned in the last class before midterm and
final term exam. In the session students will be guided about how to attempt the paper and
exam related rules and procedures will be elaborated.

1. Instructor’s Profile
Ms. Tehreem Ali is Ph.D. scholar at Iqra University Islamabad. Her field of specialization is
marketing. She has completed her MS in marketing from UIMS-PMAS Arid Agriculture
University, Rawalpindi. She has a vast teaching and administrative experience at different
public and private universities. She has published research papers in international and
national journals. Also, she has attended and presented papers at international conferences.
Moreover, she has also been part of various training workshops. Her areas of interest among
others include Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, Sustainable Marketing, Relationship
Marketing and International Marketing.
