Direct Data Entry Types

Magnetic Stripe reader


The reader takes information from the magnetic stripe that is present on
cards: such as Bank cards, membership cards.
Chip and Pin reader
The reader works when a card is inserted and the correct PIN is entered.
Barcode reader
The reader/scanner picks up the information that is stored in the barcode,
this is only visible using a red light.
Optical mark reader
The reader selects pen/pencil marks on the option that was chosen and
sends it to the computer.
Optical character reader
The reader scans text on paper into the computer, later in which the text is
converted into a digital format.
Magnetic ink recognition
The reader only can interpret the Information written in special ink, when it
is scanned the characters are converted so that the computer and
understand and process.
