Basics of Computer Science - Extranet

An extranet is a private network that extends a company's intranet by providing access to select external partners and suppliers. It allows businesses to securely share information and conduct activities like joint training programs. Extranets require firewall management to protect data as it flows between intranets. They enable faster and more efficient business communication and data sharing while reducing costs compared to traditional methods. Major users of extranets include corporate houses, government offices, and education centers.
