Homogenous Purposive Sampling Explained

The researchers will use purposive and homogenous sampling techniques to gather data from only children for their study on the impacts of being an only child. Purposive sampling allows them to focus on respondents with the key trait of being an only child, while homogenous sampling ensures all respondents share this trait. This targeted approach is expected to provide accurate, informative data for analyzing the effects of growing up without siblings. The researchers will use an application called Raosoft to determine the percentage of only children in the population and calculate sample sizes to help make the data collection efficient.

Sampling

In this research study, the researchers are using purposive sampling to obtain better and
accurate result from the acquired data. The researchers will also use homogenous sampling
technique because the respondents to this research have one trait in common, which is being an
only child. Foremost. purposive sampling is cost-effective way to choose samples and
respondents. Researchers select participants based on if the respondent is a only child. So, if the
researchers are correct, most likely that the sample collection is certain.

One of the main objectives of purposive sampling is to center on specific characteristics

of a populace that are intrigued, in our case, it is the situation of being an only child. Purposive
sampling enables researchers to take a lot of information out of the collected data and this type of
sampling technique is needed by the researchers because it provides more data to be interpreted
to gather more accurate results.

The researchers will be using Raosoft to know the percentage of “only child” in the
population. This application will also be used for sample size interval calculation, and this also
lessens the annoyance that can be encountered during the research proper. This application can
help to minimize the consumed time by the researchers.
