Week 1

Overview

This week, you’re going to spend time familiarizing yourself with the course structure in
Google Classroom and will get to know some of your peers better.

You will be able to identify the Operation Functions and Importance of Supply chain in
business operation.
Expectations

1. Review the orientation guide. Reach out to your professor if you encounter any
challenges.
2. Accept the Google Classroom invitation or check google class code for the
subject and complete the introductory activity.
3. Read the required supporting materials and complete the activities in this learner
guide. Participate in the required class discussion in Google Classroom.
4. Take note of any concept, topic, or terminology that you are not familiar with.
Use the Stream feature in Google Classroom to participate or initiate discussions
with the rest of the class.
5. Manage your time wisely. You should be able to complete the readings and
activities in this learner guide in one week.
Welcome to Google Classroom

This course utilizes Google Classroom to manage tasks and submissions. Your professor
will send you an invite to join your course Google Classroom or give you the google
class code and join yourself. The relevant sections that you will frequently access are:

● Stream - Use the Stream feature to view updates, collaborate with your peers,
and participate in asynchronous discussions. 
● Classwork - The Classwork section groups your tasks, references, output, and
templates accordingly. This allows you to locate everything you need for this
course in one place.

1. The Google Classroom invite will be sent to the NTC email address provided to
you upon enrollment or your professor will provide you the google class code.
2. Access the Google Classroom using the link provided to you. You will not be able
to access the classroom unless you have been invited or you have the classroom
code.

3. Click the Classwork tab.


4. Under Course Overview, click Orientation Guide.
5. Open BACBMEC2| Learner Orientation Guide. 
6. Spend time going through the orientation guide. Send a message to your
professor if you have any questions. 

Reading 

Go through the references for the week by clicking the links below. You
can also search for other references (articles or videos) online that will
help you better understand the reading materials. You can also check
the reading materials uploaded in the google classroom for Week one.

To check your knowledge, please do what is asked:

Answer the following questions:

1. Cite one big manufacturer here in our country. Identify their supply chain and

operation management. After identifying their supply chain and operation

management, use Venn Diagram to compare it. Explain the chart in 300 words.

2. For each of the following businesses, identify the main output of the operation:

a. Brewery

b. Publisher

c. Hotel

d. Insurance company

Explain the output in 100 words for each following businesses.

Upload your output in Google Classroom. 

1. Log in to Google Classroom and click the Classwork tab.

2. Click the Week 1 section.

3. Click Learners Task, then View Assignment.

4. Under the Your work section on the upper-right side, click the Add or Create
button.

5. Click Google Drive or File, depending on where your file is saved.

6. Locate your file and click Add.

7. Your uploaded file should show under Your work.  

8. Click Turn In and confirm.

9. The status of the assignment should change to Turned In.

This is the end of week 1 activities. Do not proceed to the next section until you
have completed all activities from the previous section.
