Rationale and Description
The Brigada Eskwela Program is one the most significant programs
of the Department of Education, that emanates spirit of bayanihan.
The local government units, barangay officials, and other
organizations work hand-in-hand as they contribute and participate
in the DepEd’s Campaign to ensure accessible and quality basic
education. As reflected in DepEd Order no. 62 s. 2022 known as
National Schools Maintenance Week or the institutionalizing of
Brigada Eskwela Program, all schools must prepare for the opening
of classes and ensure the conduciveness of the learning
environment.

Relatively, the emergence of pandemic isolated the school from the

students. It is evident that school are in need of repairs and
rehabilitation of facilities especially that limited face-to-face is now
implemented. Safety and security must be always highlighted as we
introduce our students with the teaching- and learning process.

Likewise, the activities under Brigada Eskwela will be carry out

through the help of donations in kind from benevolent individuals,
government and non-government organizations. Furthermore, the
success of its implementation lies also in the collaborative effort of
school heads, private partners, local government units, and the
community members, including parents and students. Therefore,
the Brigada Eskwela is proof that an effective partnership between
the government and citizens is possible.

Moreover, the conduct of the activities ensures that the standard

health protocols prescribed by the IATF shall STRICTLY be followed.

In addition, this activity promotes GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

focusing on mainstreaming in and gender responsiveness of DepEd
structure, policies, programs and projects R.A. 7192 and R.A. 9710.

Accordingly, the activity reflects the Division Memo No. 818, s. 2021
the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PRINCIPLE that there shall be no
discrimination based on age, sexual orientation, gender identity, civil
