Nursing Research 1 Course Overview
Course Description : This is an introductory course intended to equip the nursing students with concepts,
principles in research staring from an overview of the major research process. The course will include from
discussions from formulation to disseminations of research findings, focus on the formulation of research
problem to the selection of research design, planning and choosing the appropriate research tools for data
gathering. This course will the learner of the group to present a research proposal in a colloquium with the
application of knowledge and demonstration of skills and attitude on the conceptual design, and planning
phases of the research process.
Course Credit : 2 Units Lecture (36 Theory Hours); 1 Unit skills Lab (51 Hours)
: 10-15 Hours (Self Directed Learning)
Placement : 3rd year, First Semester
Pre-requisite : Biostatistics
Program Outcomes
a. Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences and humanities in the
practice of nursing.

community utilizing nursing process.

Level Outcome: At the end of the third year, given individuals, families, population groups and communities with
physiologic and psychosocial health problems and maladaptive patterns of behaviour in
varied health care settings, the learner demonstrates safe, appropriate and holistic care
utilizing the nursing process and applying research and evidence-based practiced.
Course Outcome: At the end of the course and given actual situations, the learners will be able to:
