Motivation Letter

Geno Goletiani

Dear Sir/Madam

As a master’s student who will be graduating from the “Applied Sociology” program at the
Vytautas Magnus University in June, I am willing to pursue my career further and apply for an
internship at the University of Maribor.

Since I aim to continue my academic career and acquire a Ph.D. degree, training in your university
will equip me with the educational toolkit beneficial for my future undertakings. Furthermore,
being surrounded by people employed in the university will make me more familiar with academic
life.

With my diverse educational background, I will easily adapt to a new environment and effortlessly
overcome challenges related to a new ambiance. Leaving my home country – Georgia, and doing
my master’s degree in Lithuania made me a more flexible and open-minded person. Furthermore,
doing an Erasmus exchange in Spain deepened my feeling that I am a world citizen and motivated
me to explore more cultures and meet new people.

I am confident I will be an asset as an intern at your university. I have developed excellent research
skills during my two degrees. Moreover, doing the master’s degree in English equipped me with
good knowledge of academic English. On top of that, using qualitative and quantitative
methodologies for my research projects made me familiar with different computer programs such
as Microsoft Office and SPSS.

Out of the two suggested periods, the one that starts in October is more convenient to me, but I
can start it in August too.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Geno Goletiani
