Climate Change:
Climate is the average weather over a longer length of time in a particular place.
A description of a climate includes details such as the typical temperature in each
season, the amount of rainfall, and the amount of sunshine. Every element of our life is
impacted by the climate, including where our food comes from, the choices we must
make for the way we dress, and places que would like to visit. Climate can change our
health, the way we survive and future generations. The cause of our constant climate
change is caused by us human beings, and some does not realize that the change is
changing our lives. It is happening slowly, and it will accumulate, and we need to
understand that our climate is changing.
There are many elements that can influence and affect our climate. Elements like
the location, can influence the way the climate will work. For example, if you live near
the ocean, the climate will be different from a person who lives near the mountains.
Another element that can influence how the climate behaves is the atmosphere. The
atmosphere is a layer of gases that surround our planet. Those gases get trapped in our
atmosphere when the heat of the sun Is too much, these gases, greenhouse gases,
cannot get out beyond our atmosphere, so it stays. This is dangerous, because they
harm our ozone layer, which protect us from direct ultraviolet rays. Some examples of
greenhouse gases are methane, ozone, nitrous oxides, and water vapor. The gases
stay trapped, and our climate get hotter and consequently harms our atmosphere.
Climate change can be defined as a long-term change in the typical weather
patterns that have come to characterize local, regional, and global climates on Earth.
This change in our planet is caused by activities that we as human make. One of this
activity is the contamination and the excessive amount of burning fuels in various parts
of the world. This irresponsibility on the hands of us humans, bring a negative effect to
our environment. By raising the concentrations of heat in our atmosphere, the
temperature rises too. the process that our planet Earth must go through has been
interrupted by humans through many years and it cannot keep up with all the
destruction we have made. We have interrupted natural process that our environment
needs to go thought to keep on growing and providing to the living organisms. There is
no balance between taking from our environment and helping it heal. To track and
research past, present, and future climate change, scientists employ computer models
and data from the ground, the air, and space. Climate changes can be studied and seen
on wildfires, floods hurricanes and other natural phenomenon that are being extended in
great masses and force.
Global warming is a similar concept to climate change, it is part of it. Global
warming is the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and ocean surface is
rising over time due to global warming. Our planet Erath warms up more, as if it were a
greenhouse, as more heat from the Sun is trapped in it. Solar radiation, deforestation,
combustion, and radiation back to earth are all effects of global warming. Global
warming is like climate change, but these two phenomena are different. Climate change
is caused by natural process that are internal like volcanic eruptions and from
mistreatment in the hands of human beings. Global warming is causes by the increase
of greenhouse effect that is caused by human beings.
Global warming not only affect our planet and living organism, but it also has a
negative effect in the world economy. According to experts, global warming and
extreme weather conditions are already harming the world economy and, if it continues
to worsen, will push millions more people into poverty, increase food prices and affect
international trade and labor markets. Economic damage from climate change has been
detected in climate-exposed sectors, with regional effects on agriculture, forestry,
fisheries, energy and tourism and through outdoor labor productivity. Many people have
been affected by changes in agricultural productivity, impacts on human health and food
security, destruction of housing and infrastructure, and loss of property and income, with
adverse effects on gender and social equity.
Many of the problems and destruction of our environment was seen during the
documentary we saw. It shows many events that climate change and global warming
has caused. It was seen that the floods that are happening with more frequency have
destroyed homes and entire cities. Another example is what happened in Paris, France
which The Paris Agreement was made, It is an international treaty on climate change
and Its goal is to limit global warming to well below 2. It is a documentary that showed
us all the consequences that man kind has been doing for many years and our planet
cannot keep up.
Our planet Earth needs help to heal and get fully functioning as it was created.
Some may think there is no hope, or it is too late. But experts and many people have
faith in this new generation. If all the countries and people work together to protect and
help heal our home, it can be done. Climate change is changing our lives and affecting
what we must survive. The same thing global warming is doing. We all know the main
problem, so we must resolve it in a manner that everyone is cooperating. Climate
change affects us all. The potential impact is huge, with predicted shortages of clean
water, major changes in conditions for food production, and increased mortality rates
due to floods, storms, droughts, and heat waves.
