4.1 SMM Standards shall be used, if requested,
JGC Standards (JGS) shall be a design basis.
Vendor standards are generally acceptable.
4.2 Design and construction shall conform to the following basic codes and/or regulations. The codes
and standards listed are only acceptable against particular services/duties. The use of a particular
standard shall be in accordance with the application as detailed in the appropriate JGS.

10. INSTRUMENTATION
10.1 The main control system shall be a microprocessor-based distributed control system (DCS) that is
provided with graphic display, recording, alarming, reporting & logging functions. Programmable
Logic Controller can be used for ON-OFF control & indications but it has to be integrated as a part of
DCS (linked via data highway).
10.2 ESD system shall be separated from the normal control devices and it shall be connected to a
information display via data highway.
10.3 Field instruments shall be suitable for the operating & climatic conditions and shall be considered for
ease operation, maximum simplicity and reliability. Weatherproof shall be IP54 as minimum.
10.4 Instrumentation signal in used shall be as follows:
Electric Signal : 4-20 mA / DC24V
Pneumatic Signal : 20-100 KPa (0.2 -1.0 kg/em2G)
10.5 Control valve shall be sized and selected considering with operation & design conditions and also with
the operability especially for the turn down ratio. Basically, type/size and materials of the control
valves are in accordance with the following philosophy:

(1) Valves for the fluid with the high content of the slurry
- Throttling
Equal or smaller than 80A: eccentric plug valve
Equal or larger than 100A: butterfly valve
- Open and Close

PAINTING
Extent of surfaces to be painted
All surface of equipment, structure, piping and tanks shall be painted except for lining surfaces, non-
ferrous metal surfaces, galvanized surfaces, aluminized steel surfaces, stainless steel surfaces and
embedded steel surfaces touched with concrete.
Internal surfaces of equipment and piping and finished machine parts shall not be painted.
