Gene and human behavior
Is the study of the affects of heredity environment on
behavior and traits?
In other words genes are considered responsible for the
development of behavioral characteristics.
Behavioral genetics is understanding of genetic and
environment contribute to individual variation in human
behavior.
The inheritance of DNA influences behavior.
Behavioral genetic researchers are finding increasing
evidence that cognitive abilities, personalities traits are
determined to some extent by genetic factors.
Behavior
Behavior is the actions or reaction pf a person in
response to external or internal stimuli.
In generally behavior is defined as a reaction to stimuli.
There are two types of behavior :-

I. Instinctive behavior
II. Learned behavior
Instinctive behavior
An instinctive behavior that is inhireted from parent of
the organism.
Animal are born with that behavior.
Learned behavior
Not all traits are passed down from your parent ,you
can learn them over time , you can learn these traits
from your parents , from others around you, or tour
environment.
Examples of learned behaviors
Language
Religion
Habituation

Favorite sport

The role and history of genetic
behavior
Attempts to study the role of heredity in behavior began
in the nineteenth century with francis Galton, who
systematically studied behavior and heredity.
Galton was a cousin of Charles Darwin studied his
own family , trying to find pattern of inheritance
associated with intelligence,
Distinctive cases of genetic influence on behavior had
been identified by the early twentieth century.
In 1950, it become clear behavioral patterns were the
result of the interaction of genetic and environmental
factors.

Without gene and their environment, there could be no
behavior.
Much of the study behavioral genetics focuses on the
development, structure, structure and function of the
nervous system because the nervous system senses the
environment.
Variation in the genes that control brain development
may result in variation of behavior.
In conclusion
Behavior is multifactorial trait that controlled by genes
and environmental factors.
