1 kg = 1000 g

= 5 x 1000 g
= 5000 g Ans

(b) 9 kg = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 9 x 1000 g
= 9000 g Ans

(c) 6 kg = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 6 x 1000 g
= 6000 g Ans

(d) 4 kg = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 4 x 1000 g
= 4000 g Ans

(e) 2 kg = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 2 x 1000 g
= 2000 g Ans

4. Convert kg and g into grams.

(a) 4 kg 548 g = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 4 x 1000 g + 548 g
= 4000g + 548g
= 4548 g Ans

(b) 7 kg 515 g = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 7 x 1000 g + 515 g
= 7000g + 515g
= 7515 g Ans

(c) 6 kg 378 g = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 6 x 1000 g + 378 g
= 6000g + 378g
= 6378 g Ans

(d) 2 kg 456 g = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 2 x 1000 g + 456 g
= 2000g + 456 g
= 2456 g Ans

(e) 1 kg 175 g = …………. g

1 kg = 1000 g

= 1 x 1000 g + 175 g
= 1000g + 175 g
= 1175 g Ans
5. Convert grams into kg and g.

(a) 5615 g = ………… g

5 615
Kg g

= 5 kg 615 g Ans

(b) 5280 g = ………… g

5 280
Kg g

= 5 kg 280 g Ans

(c) 4328 g = ………… g

4 328
Kg g

= 4 kg 328 g Ans

(d) 3786 g = ………… g

3 786
Kg g

= 3 kg 786 g Ans

(e) 9045 g = ………… g

9 045
Kg g

= 9 kg 045 g Ans
7.Write in columns and add.

(a) 5 kg 113 g; 4 kg 320 g; 1 kg 490 g

Kg g
5 113
4 320
+1 490
10 923 = 10 kg 923 g

(b) 7 kg 325 g; 15 kg 690 g; 4 kg 385 g

Kg g
7 325
15 690
+4 385
27 400 = 27 kg 400 g

(c) 6 kg 230 g; 7 kg 320 g; 2 kg 180 g

Kg g
6 230
7 320
+2 180
15 730 = 15 kg 730 g

8. Subtract by writing in columns.

(a) 4 kg 350 g from 6 kg 870 g

Kg g
6 870
-4 350
2 520 = 2 kg 520 g

(b) 54 kg from 117 kg 230 g

Kg g
117 230
- 54 000
63 230 = 63 kg 230 g
(c) 42 kg 175 g from 65 kg 680 g

Kg g
65 680
- 42 175
23 505 = 23 kg 505 g

9. Solve the following:

(a) In a bag, there are 5 kg potatoes, 6 kg onions, and 10 kg fruits. What

is the total weight of the bag?

Solution: Potatoes = 5 kg
Onions = 6 kg
Fruits = +10 kg
Total weight = 21 kg Ans

(b) In a truck, there is a bag of apples weighing 240 kg and a bag of

oranges weighing 360 kg. Find the total weight the truck is carrying?

Solution: Bag of apples = 240 kg

Bag of oranges = 360 kg
Total weight = 600 kg Ans

(c) Anil weighs 27 kg 150 g and Anuj weighs 24 kg 475 g. How much do
they weigh together? Who weighs more and by how much?

Solution: Weight of Anil = 27 kg 150 g

Weight of Anuj =+ 24 kg 475 g
Weight together = 51 kg 625g
Now,
27 kg 150 g
-24 kg 475 g
2 kg 675 g
Anil weigh more by 2 kg 675 kg.
