Taima’s opening speech:

Hello everyone and welcome to our first-ever DIS Trashion Show.

Let’s get a round of applause for the dancers for their amazing performance which they put a
lot of time and effort towards
This evening we will show you a series of amazing performances from our own DIS students as
well as incredible outfits from our designers made entirely from recyclable materials. This idea
stemmed from the head of the design and innovation council, Abdullah, who has unfortunately
not been able to attend this event.

We would also like to welcome our special guest Abdul Majid who is the CEO of ZERO which is a
sustainable tech company focused on making a better future for us and our future generations

Our vision with the Trashion show was to create a movement to shed light on sustainability and
why we so desperately need it

Though sustainability goes into every aspect of society we really wanted to focus on how it
affects the sea which is 71 per cent of our world and shows the detrimental effects it has on
such a big part of what we call our home, earth

Now I will pass it to Roxanne our head girl and Sahana our new Head Girl Candidate for 2023. I
hope you have an amazing evening and enjoy the show.

Continued Rox and Sahana:

I’d like to introduce our judges – internally our judge our miss amber Ahmed who the head of

personality and sustainability.

seabirds and 100000 marine mammals are killed by oean plastic every single year and how 8
