We are writing to ask for your kind prompt support for the people of Zamboanga Del Norte particularly
the Leon B. Postigo Municipality.
Leon B. Postigo is a 4th class municipality considered as impoverished community that is vulnerable
to natural hazards and disaster. It consists 18 barangays with an approximate 27,000 populace, bearing
six (6) flood prone coastal areas namely: Poblacion, Delusom, Manil, Bogabongan, Palandok and
Talinga. Our municipalityis also identified being inflicted with the presence of the Communist
Terrorist Group with its armed interference and threats. With limited resources, it's hard to provide our
constituents the standard evacuation center that will cater them in times of distress and calamity in
addition to a more pressing issues of insurgency and prompt COVID-19 response and necessities.
In times of distress, the Local Govermment usually utilizes public school, covered courts as temporary
evacuation centers and Isolation Facilities. We believethatbuilding a Standard Evacuation facility is
deemed necessary and in utmost priority for safe shelter during natural disasters or human-induced
conflicts. Indeed, life preservation and public's interest will be preserved as we propose the
construction of a Standard Evacuation Center. Thus, we seek additional resources from externmal
sources to aid us in ensuring an effective response to the safety needs of our people.
