TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES


1. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 100 and read Nina’s speech bubble.
PRE-LESSON 2. Pupils discuss in pairs whether they have had any health problems on holiday.
3. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
4. Pupils look at the first aid kit and the words in bold in the text.
5. Pupils read the question on Activity 1.
6. Pupils read an article about holiday health.
7. Pupils read 6 questions in Activity 2 and answer them.
8. Pupils compare answers in pairs before checking answers as a class.
9. Pupils listen to 2 friends talking about a mobile app and state the name of the app.
LESSON 10. Pupils compare answers in pairs before checking answers as a class.
DEVELOPMENT 11. Pupils read the 5 questions in Activity 4.
12. Pupils listen to the same 2 friends again and choose the correct answers for 5 questions.
13. Pupils compare answers in pairs before checking answers as a class.
14. Pupils move on to Activity 5 and read the dialogue between Nina and a pharmacist.
15. Pupils listen to Nina’s conversation with the pharmacist and complete 4 gap fills in the dialogue.
16. Pupils compare answers in pairs before checking answers as a class.
17. Pupils practice the dialogue in pairs and then swap roles and practice again.
18. Pupils discuss with their partners what other things that can be brought along apart from the ones mentioned
POST-LESSON in the article to ensure positive holiday health.
19. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
