Review 1 (10mints)
Game Vocabulary challenge
What do you see in the pictures? What kind of topics do the pictures express? (art, health,
kitchen equipment, movie-making, and food and drink)
Divide the class into two teams. Within their teams, ask students to work in pairs and brainstorm
as much vocabulary as they can for each topic. Set a time limit of three minutes for the activity.
Divide the board into five sections and ask students from each team to take turns offering one
item of vocabulary and saying which topic it belongs to. Write the word on the board in the
correct section and explain it if necessary. Name the teams
Award a point to the team. Once a word has been suggested, it cannot be suggested again by the
other team.
Review 2 (10 mints)
Focus on the photos and ask Which topic do you find most interesting?Why?
Which things are most important for a country?
Which things should governments spend money on? Why? Try to generate a class discussion,
and encourage students to express their opinions and agree and disagree with each other.
Review 3 (10 mints)
Give students a few minutes to look through the Healthy Living Survey. Deal with any vocabulary
issues.
Students do the survey in groups of four, jotting down any interesting or surprising answers.
Divide each group into pairs, and put pairs together into new groups of four. Students report on
anything interesting or surprising that came up in their discussions.
It doesn’t matter!
WARM-UP 1 (5 minits) Game Food chain
Each student says the name of a food or a drink. If they can't think of one quickly enough or
repeat one that has been said before, then they sit down. The winning student is the one left
standing.
Set a rhythm by asking the students to clap their hands. Each student has five claps to say a word
WARM-UP 2 ( optional)
Write the headings meat, fish, vegetarian food, vegetables, fruit, and drink on the board. Ask students
for one example to go under each heading. In pairs, students race to add another three words
beneath each heading. The winning team is the first to finish. Write all the ideas on the board. Check
comprehension and pronunciation by giving a translation for a word and asking students to say the
word in English.
Fact or fiction (10 mints)

• Students read the eight statements and put a check next to them if they think they are true,
and an x next to them if they think they are false.
Students compare their ideas.
Try to convince them to come to your side!
Reread and answer questions in the text.

Ask students to work in pairs to discuss the questions. Ask some pairs to report back to the class and
continue a class discussion if students are interested and have plenty of ideas.

We have seen 32 verbs in this lesson! Close your books and in groups try to remember as many
verbs as possible.
Guessing game! Teacher write the following words on the board and students try to guess the word
while getting help from other students. Other students are not supposed to say the word! If they say
the word, the whole group loses a point.
