My today’s presentation is about the wellbeing trend in HR

Employee motivation

The pandemic has accustomed teams to work remotely - virtually every meeting can be held on the
company's communicator, and new technologies come with help in the organization of work.
However, are employees who work mainly in the privacy of their homes sufficiently engaged, active
and willing to participate in the life of the company? HR continues to face the challenge of integrating
and keeping remote teams motivated. How can this be done? First of all, by caring for the well-being
of employees: as research shows, satisfied employees are 43% more productive and there is less
employee turnover.

when we ask employees about mental health support - as many as 72.6% of employees believe that
their employer should introduce benefits related to mental health. As statistics show, attractive
salary supplements are those that help to take care of your condition and well-being. Sports cards,
team-building events or - commonly ridiculed - fruit Thursdays are no longer appreciated among the
employees. Interestingly, even pro-health benefits, if they are passive, do not fulfil their role. This
applies, inter alia, to private medical care. As research shows, only 19% of people who have a
medical package in the company use it for preventive examinations.

Organization of the Health Action directly at the company's headquarters, which consists of
preventive examinations, educational workshops, consultations with specialists and other activities
that can be taken to improve health without leaving the office.

Work-life Balance

As many as 55% of employees work overtime. Importantly, 74% of them feel negative consequences
of this fact - both in terms of physical condition and mental health. Therefore, the challenge for HR
departments is to care for the wellbeing of employees and implement initiatives that will help teams
find a balance between health and work.

Such initiatives can be, for example:

- Facilities and benefits for parents: childcare subsidies, organization of activities / care for
children directly in the company or places for breastfeeding mothers at work.
- Various types of educational activities (workshops, consultations with specialists, lectures)
that would make employees aware of the importance of maintaining work-life balance and
teach specific techniques that help maintain balance.
- Additional days or hours off work during which the employee could take care of his needs.

You have to remember that a well-rested employee is much more productive and active than the one
overwhelmed with duties.

How to convince superiors to take action to improve the overall comfort of the employees?

This must be supported by numerous reports that show the relationship between effectiveness and
the implementation of pro-employment activities.
On the websites of many wellbeing institutions, we can find statistics confirming that a healthy,
satisfied employee is more efficient and more loyal to the company.

It would also be worthwhile to carry out a survey of employee needs - it could be, for example, an
anonymous survey. It is worth showing superiors that employees do expect additional support in
taking care of themselves.

Conclusion

To sum up:

A big challenge lies ahead for HR departments: more and more employees expect the company to do
some sort of work for them in taking care of themselves. However, it is important to organize
initiatives to support the health of the team, but not to forget about education: an employee who
cares about healthy habits is not only happier, but also more effective and loyal.

In my opinion, this is a good supplement when it comes to a healthy working life.
