DOMESTIC TOUR OPERATORS

They provide services to the tourists within the host country. They put together inclusive
tour packages and sell them to domestic travelers. Tours that are arranged by Domestic Tour
Operators usually involved residents of the host country that are travelling within their country.
An example is Filipino residents travelling within the Philippines, and domestic tour operators
within the Philippines will arrange them a tour package. For example, Wanderlands Travel is a
local tour operator in the Philippines where they offer domestic services; arrange tour packages,
provide itineraries, arrange accommodations & transportation and etc. for their clients.

GROUND TOUR OPERATORS

Ground tour operators operate domestically. But they are different from Domestic Tour
Operators. They organize tour for incoming tourists on behalf of inbound tour operators and
sometimes outbound tour operators. Ground Operators handle the clients of inbound tour
operators and sometimes outbound tour operators if they are needed. Here is an example; An
Outbound Tour Operator plans a tour in another country but they did not have branches or
offices in the country that they’re planning to tour on, so they will look for ground tour operates
within the country to handle the incoming tourists at those various destinations, oversee land
arrangements; negotiate with and contract local vendors; coordinate arrivals and departures; plan
and put together local tour packages; escort tourists; provide market data; and cost and price tour
packages. Overall, it is their duty to ensure that the entire trip goes smoothly based on the
package tours and agreements.
