information and for their assistance in finishing this Training Report.

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to Almighty God, my parents, brother, sister, and friends
for their unwavering support.
This task would not be done if it weren't for them.
Abstract
This report details two small-scale construction projects: the installation of a U-type storm drain
as well as repair and whitewashing. The primary goal of creating a U-type storm drain was to
control water flows through and over the road. The roads were surveyed and measurements were
obtained in accordance with the results. The measurements were taken to calculate the
overall cost of building the U-type storm drain. The ground was originally excavated to a depth
of 60 cm at the site, and the bottom surface was plastered with 10 cm thick C.C. (1:4:8). The
brick drain walls were built to a height of 45 cm and a width of 23 cm and 35 cm, respectively.
The exposed inner surfaces were lined with 15 cm of plaster (1:4) and the exposed outer surfaces
with 5 cm of P.C.C (1:1.5:3) plaster.
The current layer of paint was scraped off and all the nails were removed in the second
construction project.
Existing voids were filled with white cement. After allowing the surface to air dry,
To add moisture, it was irrigated. After that, a layer of oil-bound washable paint was applied to
the walls.
distemper. The old plaster was swept up and scrubbed with sandpaper before the walls could be
repaired.
for the purpose of smoothing the surface Patches of 2.5 sqm were used to fix the damage.
12 mm to 20 mm thickness with cement mortar (1:4).

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION
P.W.D., or Lok Nirman Vibhag, has been around for more than 130 years. PWD is in charge of
road, bridge, and government building construction, maintenance, and planning.

All third- and fourth-year students pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at RTU are
required to participate in a six-week industrial training program as part of their graduation
. This industrial training is a course for undergraduates that allows them to be
exposed to the real world of work in order to learn how to connect theoretical learning and real-
world practice in the Field. Aside from that, they will have better preparation in the future.
They have a good understanding of their field of work.

1.2 THE OBJECTIVE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING:

 Undergraduates have the opportunity to experience the professional environment
of their particular fields of study.

 For the purpose of gaining work experience in an industry related to their present
field of study.

 Using knowledge gained from industrial training in their studies after completing
training and continuing their education at university.

 They'll be taught how to communicate and engage with coworkers and superiors.

 They will be taught how to write a technical report based on the industrial
training they get.

1.3 THE SCOPE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING:

 Observing the entire industry's activity.

 Using a machine or a tool to perform operation labor that is involved in unit

manufacturing.

 Work that entails tool installation and manufacturing.

 On the finished product, there is a visual examination and quality control.

 Buying a new tool or repairing any damaged tool if it can still be used to take its place

 (There will be a discussion and a meeting with the superior.)

2.1.2 Detailed work :
For the aforementioned work, U-type storm drains were installed from C.C. Road and
Pratap Road to Puri General Store (1150 m), from Guru Nanak Road to Manav Kendra
(1500 m), and from Bhagat Singh Road to Arun Sharma's apartment (700m and 400
m). To keep the water from standing still and becoming stagnant, a pre-existing U-type
drain
that had been damaged was fixed. The provision for a U-type drain was ideal because it
provided the water with a' reverse grade.' As a result, it was advised that U-type drains
be installed.

2.1.3 Specifications :
All work was completed in accordance with PWD Rajasthan's Detailed Specifications
and as directed by Engineer in Charge and Circulars issued by Chief Engineer (level-I)

The old coat of pigment was scraped off first, and all spaces were filled with white cement for
the task indicated. After allowing the surface to air dry, it was irrigated to add moisture. After
that, a coating of oil-bound washable distemper was applied to the walls. The old plaster was
swept out and scrubbed with sandpaper to make the surface smooth before restoring the walls.

CONCLUSION

3.1 Conclusion

PWD's 6-week training program was a fantastic learning experience for me, not
just in terms of technical skills but also in terms of interacting with other Co-
worker. I got a lot of knowledge through putting what I studied in college to use.
It's impossible to learn something through books or lectures unless you have actual
experience. At Loadstar, I was able to put my Civil Engineering skills to use. The
company gives the student complete autonomy in order for him or her to receive
adequate training. Trainees are free to ask questions and participate in activities
related to the training. Engineers are always eager to provide us with the greatest
training experience possible. Employees are primarily concerned with the work at
hand, not with their title.

3.2 Drawbacks during the training

PWD has a number of health risks, which I believe is a disadvantage. Employees

are subjected to a great deal of dust. These particles can cause significant lung
damage if breathed. Despite the fact that wearing safety masks is required, most
personnel do not do so. They should be persuaded to wear safety equipment and
instructed on the dangers of not doing so. In addition, unlike CEB, which
measures safety by the number of accidents in a certain period, Loadstar displays
the number of deaths. I've included a copy of the certificate PWD received.
3.3 Future Scope

As a Rajasthan Technical University undergraduate, I believe that this training

program provides us with a fantastic opportunity to receive hands-on experience and
learn things that we would not have learned if we had gone straight into a career. I
am grateful to PWD and Engineering College Bikaner for providing us with this
fantastic opportunity. The basic goal of industrial training is to allow undergraduates
to recognize, observe, and practice how engineering is used in real-world situations.
It's not just about gaining technical skills; it's also about seeing management
methods and interacting with coworkers. Working with advanced machinery is
simple, but working with people is not. The industrial training period is an
undergraduate's only opportunity to gain this experience. I believe I got the most out
of that opportunity. I also learned about the organizational culture, the value of
punctuality, the need for utmost commitment, and the value of teamwork. The
training program's three destinations were far more beneficial than staying in one
location for the entire six weeks. In my perspective, I have obtained a great deal of
knowledge and experience that will help me succeed in a major engineering task,
because, after all, engineering is a challenge, not a job.
