Challenge 1: Editorial Cartoon Analysis

Directions: Study the editorial cartoon below. Answer the questions that follow. Do this
on your answer sheet.

1. What do you think is the message of the cartoon? Do you agree with the cartoonist?

-The image that the cartoon shows is you and your future, which will depend on your
decision.

2. How would you describe the thought of the cartoonist toward adolescents?

-I think that the cartoonist wants to tell us that our future depends on every decision that
we make in our present self.

1. How would you interpret the line in connection to cyber bullying? Do you agree with
it? Give concrete situation to justify your answer.

- Yes, cyberbullying can lead to nothing but depression and anxiety for others. Bullying
is a mistake that every person should correct. Every person should have respect for
everyone and accept them for who they are.

2. Visualize the situation being presented by the author.

-The example of this is blackmailing someone to do something that goes against their
will.

3. In what certain scenario do you think would this line be applicable?

- Maybe for someone who made a mistake, but for me, it is normal and a mistake is an
opportunity that will make us realize something and give us a lesson. That lesson will
change us and help us to become a better person.
Activity 1.2. Briefly discuss the principles and concepts of the famous
philosophers. Do this on your paper.

1. “Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is

strength; mastering yourself is true power.” - Lao Tzu

- Knowing others is intelligence. It's just exploring the world. You will gain experience
and realization, but knowing yourself is a wisdom that you can find inside you.
Mastering others is strength by having them in your life, but mastering yourself is true
power that sleeps inside you. Your strength will make you a person who can overcome
any situation.

2. “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” – Aristotle

-Knowing yourself is wisdom. We need to know that the true wisdom is inside us, the
wisdom that will give us direction, inspiration, and success. But you can only find
wisdom inside you by knowing yourself better than other people, because you will
always be you.

Activity 1.3. Learning the Skill: Understanding Conceptual Paradigm

1. Study the conceptual framework below. Analyze the connections of the elements and
explain it in a concise manner.

-Self-image is an image of how you see yourself as a person. It can be good or bad,
negative or positive, but having self-esteem will make you an independent person, a
person that can do everything that they want to do and make themselves better. Having
an ideal self is a one-way process that makes you a better you.mage is an image of
