1)(a) A transaction processing system is an information processing system for business

transaction involving the collection, modification and retrieval of all transaction data.
Characteristic of a TPS include performance, reliability and consistency. TPS is also
known as transaction processing or real-time processing.
(b) Open or withdraw a fixed deposit. You can open a fixed deposit with your bank
using an ATM. Select ‘Open Fixed Deposit’ on the ATM menu, select the duration, enter
the amount and confirm the other necessary details.
Pay income tax. Some banks offer the convenience of paying income tax using ATMs.
This includes advance tax, self-assessment tax as well as tax due after regular
assessment.
Transfer cash. If you do not have access to Net banking, funds can be transferred from
your bank account to that of another bank using an ATM. You need to register the
beneficiary account online or at bank branch.

2)(a) -Virtual reality. Used to create computer-generated simulations in various areas


including design of building, test driving new vehicles, assisting in hospital to provide
simulation of operation for training purpose.

-Computer aided design. It is used to automate the creation and revision of drawing and
designs.

-Investment workstation. It provides financial knowledge worker with all the information
they required to make investment decisions.

(b) -To create knowledge and store them digitally. It also integrates new knowledge
created into the organization to make them available for other users.

3)-ESS offer more general computing capabilities, better telecommunications and


efficient display options. They use the advanced graphics software to display the critical
information in the form of charts or graphs that help senior executives to solve a wide
range of problems.

and forecast trends.
