1. Tell me about yourself?
I am an MBA graduate in dual specialization i.e., Marketing and Information Technology from the
Army Institute of Management & Technology, Greater Noida. I have around 1.5 years of experience
in the FMCG Industry as an Assistant Manager in Sales & Marketing. My area of expertise is business
development, Market research, ATL & BTL branding, Key Account Management and Go to Market
Strategy.
As you know, I am currently a part of The Marketing Launchpad Program at Kraftshala, where I
specialized in Paid media marketing and I am working on Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Google
Analytics, and communication skills among others.
I am a person who is always eager to learn a new skill that is relevant to the Marketing field such
as Digital Marketing, Advance Excel, Tableau & Power BI.
Apart from this, I love to read blogs from various social media sites such as Linkedin, Quora, and
other internet sources to be updated with the current world. I am a quick learner & ready to take on
new challenges required to perform better in the field of digital marketing.
2. Why did you choose Kraftshala for your journey into Digital Marketing?
There are various online as well as offline institutes where one can learn digital marketing such as
Coursera, Udemy, simple learn, Kraftshala, Digital Vidya and IIDE. The reason for choosing Kraftshala
is the faculty, who are passed out from various IIM and have decades of industry exposure. Apart
from this, there are two reasons for choosing Kraftshala. The first one is the learning methodology of
Kraftshala which include 70% through practical projects and 20% through industry experts in the
digital marketing field and the rest is 10% through online lectures.
The second is pay after placement. I talked to many alumni and I got to know about the placement
record. You only pay when you get placed with a CTC of 4.5 lakh. After getting placed you can choose
the EMI option to make the payment. Which is less burden on me even after getting a job in the
corporate.
3. What are your top two strengths and weaknesses?
My top 2 strengths are Optimistic and Versatile. I always stay optimistic in every phase of my life. It
has helped me to be internally strong and looks at life from a positive aspect. I can share one
incident where optimism helped me a lot. When I was in 11 th standard one day, I was fall from the
roof of the house and I got senseless. When I opened my eyes I was in the hospital. I got severe back
pain. I was not able to stand on my own feet for the next 3 months. But I never lost hope. I
motivated myself and was able to go to school 4 months after that incident. Versatile has helped me
to be adjusted and calm in every stage of life. As my father is an Ex-Army person I have stayed in
several parts of India since my childhood. I have adjusted myself in every place according to the
culture of the society. My top two weaknesses are procrastinating and overthinking, Which
sometimes cause many problems. To avoid such things I have made a rule that I do the most priority
task first and then go to the least priority. Which has helped me a lot to finish my task on time. The
second one is overthinking. Sometimes due to overthinking, I don’t enjoy my life fully. To avoid such
things I generally keep engaging myself in the various task that I love to do like cooking, public
speaking and reading start-up stories.
4. Why did you choose / transition into digital marketing from your previous background?
Marketing is the most creative & versatile job. It allows knowing more about promotion, branding,
selling, communications, creative design & research. After working for 1.5 years in a leading MNC in
the marketing domain, I have learned that Marketing is not limited to just spreading awareness
about the product or services to the consumer. It also includes deep research on the industry,
product, Target Market, analysis of consumer behaviour, and competitors before launching a
product.
Nowadays the world is going to digitalize and relying only on offline marketing is not enough to cater
for the whole audience. So, I want to pursue digital marketing by which I can connect with people
electronically and can choose the right channel for online branding for a particular business.
I want to learn Social media marketing, SEO, SEM, Web Analytics, Email Marketing and Campaign
Management to enhance my digital marketing skills.
5. Please describe your role, responsibilities, and achievements in your last job.
Before joining kraftshala I was working with Godfrey Philips India Ltd., as an Assistant Manager in
sales and marketing. The job role was to increase sales in 6 districts of Rajasthan. Apart from this
some of my role and responsibility was Distribution handling, Implementing the Go-To-Market
strategy in the area and Team management. Every Quarter I have to achieve my target and build a
holistic atmosphere with the external as well as the internal teams of the company. To achieve my
individual target as well as every sales executive target working under me, I take meetings with all
and discuss how we can do it. I also encourage and motivate my team and work with them closely
from the very start of the month. This resulted that I have achieved twice my sales target in two
consecutive quarters of sales volume of 1.6 Cr.
6. Tell me about a time you faced a challenge while working with a team. What happened and how
did you resolve it?
After my MBA I got placed in an FMCG company as a management trainee in a sales and marketing
role. I had to manage 4 districts along with a team of 20 salespeople on the ground. The biggest
challenge for me is to interact with all 20 people and motivated them to drive sales for the company.
They all were different in terms of knowledge and experience. It was a big challenge for me to drive
the sales in the assigned territory. So after one month I spend more time with the less productive
salespeople in the market and tried to find the gap why they are performing low. After spending 2
weeks I found a lot of areas where I can do the improvement, such as Product training as well as
Upselling and crossing selling. I immediately arrange a training session for the team. I repeat this for
3 months continuously. After 4 months I saw an improvement in my sales team and they were very
confident about their role and responsibility.
7. Where do you see yourself after 5 years?
In five years, I want to be in a mid-level managerial role in the field of digital marketing. In that role, I
will be managing a team and will help them to achieve the organizational goals. I will also do some
certification courses from various top institutes to keep updating myself in this competitive world.
Apart from this, I will also take some internal training programs for the managerial position. That’s
my top career goal. Plus, my ideal path would include working abroad for a couple of years by which
I can get experience in the international market.
8. Tell me about a time when you had to solve a problem?
During my college days at the Army Institute of management and technology students are always
facing issues going outside of the college due to some strict rules by the college administrator. Every
time someone wants to go outside needs an out-pass signed by the principal. As principal most of
the time went outside for various college work it was a problem for students to sign manually. So
request the IT department of the college to convert the manual pass to a digital pass. After one
month the college agree with the proposal and went for digitalization. In the end, students can apply
for the pass-through through their mobile app and the administrator is also happy because of the
smooth process. We saved a lot of time for the student as well as the administrator.
