I am ####, son of Mr. #### and Mrs. ####, born on #### and from ….Yangon,
Myanmar. I am very much pleased to introduce myself as a genuine student for the
course of Diploma of Information Technology Networking commencing and Advanced
Diploma of Network Security at one of the highly renowned college
named ####, Australia. In this statement of purpose, I will be illustrating briefly about
myself regarding my academic background, reason for choosing Australia rather than
other countries, why I chose a particular education provider and course and also my
future plans.

Referring to my academic career, I completed my Secondary level in first division. After

completing my Secondary level, I never limited myself from learning and collecting the
experiences. During that time, I visited and researched the various institutes here in
Myanmar offering the courses of Information Technology. And I was not really
impressed when I discovered about the quality of education and the course contents
they provided. So, I chose to study abroad. Then, I joined IELTS preparation classes
and appeared the IELTS examination on #### scoring overall 6.0. I attended various
seminars, visited experts of education consultants and also researched online for the
colleges in Australia offering IT courses as per my academic and IELTS criteria. And I
found #### is prominent for international students being consistent to offer quality
education and specialize them in respective fields.

After some serious research being done, I chose Australia as the place to pursue my
further education since it has successfully developed the world-class education system
having 83% satisfied international students. Australia being an English based country, it
won't be difficult for me to communicate. Also it will be easier to adapt in Australia
because of its multicultural environment and amazing hospitality. Australia is an
internationally recognized source of high-quality education as well as research
excellence. Australian universities, vocational and technical education colleges, and
schools are world-class and acclaimed everywhere. Australian colleges and universities
are considered world leaders in English language courses for international students.
Australia has more than 1100 education providers providing 22000 varieties of courses,
out of which 7 universities have been listed in the top 100 of the QS World University
Ranking. Also, Australia has been listed in the top ten happiest countries and is the
second international education destination because of its cultural diversity, high quality
education, world famous lifestyle and friendly nature towards overseas students.
Moreover, Australia is a more secure and peaceful study destination with a significantly
lower crime rate. It also offers affordable cost of living with quality living standard and
education. The Australian education system has also issued policies and acts beneficial
for international students including the international scholarship scheme and Tuition
Protection Services (TPS) which is an initiative of the Australian Government to assist
international students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their course
of study. The TPS ensures that international students are able to either complete their
studies in another course or with another education provider or receive a refund of their
unspent tuition fee.

The education system in Australia is more flexible as compared to my home country.

The degrees and qualifications that Australian education institutes provide are
internationally recognized which the colleges and universities of my home country fail to
provide. Moreover, the Australian education system has well equipped and updated
course contents providing adequate practical and industry based training to their
students. Australia itself is a hotspot for IT as the new technologies and innovations are
equipped comparatively faster. Hence, Australia being at the forefront of new
technology and innovations, I can take advantage of the country’s impressive
technology and research resources. So, achieving a globally recognized qualification
from an Australian education provider will ensure that I can find a better job in my home
country as the IT job providers in Myanmar are always looking to hire the skilled and
international degree holders of IT professionals. Since, the Australian education system
provides practical based qualitative education at affordable cost and allows the
international students to practice outdoor lifestyle in a secured environment while
studying in Australia, I choose to study in Australia.    

I have researched different foreign study destinations like the USA, Canada, UK,
Australia and some European as well as Asian countries. And, I chose to study in
Australia over all other options. Australia has developed a world-class education system
and it being at the forefront of new technologies and innovations, is the perfect study
destination for information technology students. The balanced environment and
opportunities Australia has stored in, makes it a better foreign study destination over all
other options. Tuition fees and living expenses in the USA and UK are significantly
expensive while Australia offers quality education and a better quality of life at
affordable costs. There are relatively less intakes per year in the USA and Canada as
compared to that of Australia, which has flexible intakes. Canada has extreme cold
weather with an average of -19.7 degree Celsius temperature but Australia's climate is
moderate, more alike to that of my home country, Myanmar. In order to study in the
USA and Canada, entry requirements are very difficult as they are time, money and
effort consuming. The applicants need to have SAT, ACT or TOFEL in order to study in
USA institutes which is time, money and effort consuming. Several colleges being
Blacklisted previously and with the lack of policies like Tuition Protection Service (TPS),
I find the UK less secure as a study destination. Similarly, the USA lacks adequate
security for foreign students and most of the European and Asian Countries have
language barriers that could make daily life difficult. Multicultural Australia is a safe,
friendly, sophisticated and harmonious society in which students can learn and travel in
the country without any boundaries and fear. Australia also offers excellent value for
money and a high standard of living.

We live in the modern era and IT is everywhere. And every day, it changes the world,
underpins our lives. IT is paramount that influences all kinds of human activities both
personal and organizational. So, information technology drives innovations in science,
engineering, business, entertainment and education, helping to make a positive
difference in the world. More than ever, business organizations rely on computer
technology to help them be more productive. Information technology is a discipline that
offers rewarding and challenging possibilities every other following day and hence
sharpens the problem-solving skills of IT professionals which is essential for their rest of
lives. Also, IT professionals can enjoy the opportunity to keep learning as the
companies are aware that technology changes at the speed of light, which is why many
organizations invest heavily in continuing education of their IT workers. As an IT
professional, one will be supporting the clients in reaching their goals and nurturing their
corporate culture. The IT course is incredibly diverse and has a huge range of career
options like programming, database management, networking and desktop support.
Since the possibility with technology is endless and continues to grow as the
modernization and advancement take place, the IT professionals are always in high
demand ensuring the opportunities with computer technology are without boundaries. 

According to the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), IT jobs are among the
highest paid and have the highest job satisfaction. Similarly, the U.S Bureau of Labor
Statistics (BLS) states that the employment of computer and information systems
managers is projected to grow 12 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average
for all occupations. This is a known fact that an information technology course ensures
the successful career of its students. Moreover, the IT course involves the practical
styles of learning along with the theoretical part which really helps to gain sustainable
knowledge and develop a flexible working style. IT is ubiquitous and helps to build a
secure career. I chose Information Technology (IT) as it has been my interest since an
early age. I have chosen to study Diploma of Information Technology networking and
Advanced Diploma of Network Security in ####College, Australia. 

Furthermore, IT networking has a high scope and its demand is also increasing.
Employment of IT networking is growing much faster than the average for all
occupations. Also in my country, there is a vast use of IT networking in every sector like
Banking, Forensic lab, Business, Agriculture, Health and Medicine even in Education
sector etc. IT networking is one of the most aspired courses currently for students. It
can be based widely in all the sectors of the economy. It offers a bright future for the
innovation and growth oriented students.

The IT course offered in my home country follows an old course structure which lacks
advanced technology. The colleges here offer a traditional based teaching and learning
system. These colleges rarely offer internship facilities. Mainly they focus on theoretical
based training and hence fail to provide industry needs practical. The value of the
degree is limited within the nation and the course is not well equipped with the new
technology and updated curriculum. So, IT colleges in my country fail to provide a
globally recognized degree and hence fail to offer international exposure. Studying in
my home country offers no opportunity for a multicultural environment. Moreover, I will
be equipped with locally recognized degrees and theoretical based knowledge lacking
adequate industry skills making it more challenging to find a better job upon completion
of study in my home country. However, studying in an Australian institution will help me
to learn in an advanced methodology, enhance my practical knowledge and gain a
global exposure which will certainly help me build a better career. So, I prefer to study in
Australia as it can help me enhance my skills and learn new things among the new
people gathering the new experiences in a qualitative way.

As I decided to study IT in Australia, I researched colleges offering the course of my

interest. I have come across some of the popular colleges of Australia providing VET IT
courses like ###, ###, ###and ### . 

#### is located in Sydney's CBD ensuring the availability of all sorts of public
infrastructure, hence making students' lives convenient. Moreover, #### specializes in
overseas student’s education and prepares a safe environment to help them enhance
their knowledge. Also it offers my intended course at affordable cost and has excellent
education service and facilities. Small size class, flexible timetable, fully resourced labs
and industry expert trainers are important factors of #### that convince me to raise my
further education in #### over all other options. 

After being to the seminars conducted by ####, I wanted to know more about #### and
its courses. So, I researched through the college official website, even collected the
references from my friends studying in #### and received positive feedback. My
interested field of study is IT networking and #### is equipped with modern lab facilities,
providing opportunities for 'hands-on' experience and practice as well as an excellent
student support system for international students. #### specializes in international
student education, provides a multicultural learning environment for students from over
35 countries. Industry experienced trainer from over 13 nationalities deliver courses
at ####. #### works hard to ensure the needs and interests of each student. Staff are
dedicated to looking after all needs of students ensuring that the students feel
welcomed, comfortable and supported. #### has excellent facilities and technology
resources along with the advanced learning and teaching methodology. The college is
conveniently located in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District (CBD), making
transportation easier. #### offers reasonable course fees and duration with the flexible
payment options. It has small sized classes ensuring individual attention towards
students, flexible class timetable, assignment based assessment and extra learning
support system along with weekly support tutorials for each course. 

#### College offers a range of flexible course delivery options appropriate to the

students’ preferred learning style. #### has an excellent IT team and better learning
environment for overseas IT students. It offers Diploma of IT networking and Advanced
Diploma of Network Security. This course has been packaged very well as, I will firstly
get to learn about IT networking leading to network security as my advanced diploma. I
will be studying 15 hours face to face and 5 hour online studies with the duration of 52
weeks for Diploma in IT networking and 52 weeks for advanced diploma of network
security. 

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to plan, design,
manage and monitor an enterprise information and communications technology (ICT)
network as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team responsible for advanced
ICT network security systems. The qualification has a high-level ICT technical base with
appropriate security units and the ability to specialize in a number of areas, including
voice, wireless, network infrastructure and sustainability.

Each course has a study method of 15hrs face-to-face and 5hrs online per
week. #### provides advanced and updated IT course content. Also #### trainers have
the relevant qualifications required for the course and National Training package and
the VQF. The trainers have more than 3 years' experience in the relevant industry and
are fully dedicated to nurture the students' knowledge and skills. The college follows an
advanced learning and teaching system. The teaching method includes face-to-face
instruction and online to group of students and one-to-one individual support, attention
and assistance. #### has fully resourced lecture rooms and modern lab facilities
equipped with safety and security. Moreover, the college is set-up with facilities, which
provide plenty of opportunity and ample space for me to practice and develop my skills.
I strongly believe that help and guidance which would be provided by distinguished

I belong to a stable family with sound financial status. My guardians are very positive
towards my study abroad plan and will support me financially as well as morally
throughout my stay in Australia. Basically, my mother is sponsoring my study and living
expenses in Australia from her source of earning. The total annual income of a family is
equivalent to AUD 20,354.80. Moreover, I have been issued an educational loan
from #### Bank Limited for my study abroad. Hence, I can assure that I will not have
any financial troubles during my educational stay in Australia.

I have a 2 years study plan in Australia. In these two years, I will be completing my
intended course which is Diploma of Information Technology Networking and Advanced
Diploma of Network Security, hence to develop the industry needs practical skills as
well as theoretical knowledge on the related field. The globally recognized qualification
and the experiences that I achieve in Australia will surely add some sort of milestone to
make my future professional career more successful. Myanmar is a developing country
and IT is always growing which has a role in all sectors ensuring a beautiful professional
IT career in Myanmar. The highly reputed IT companies of Myanmar such as EWhale
Myanmar, Vortech Myanmar, AutoCount (myanmar), Information Business Service
Provider and Conceptine (Myanmar) provide well paid jobs for IT Network Administrator,
IT Security Specialist, IT Security Administrator, ICT security specialist, IT security
analyst, e-security specialist, Network security specialist and so on. And I believe an
international qualification, exposure and the experiences which I will achieve from an
Australian education provider will multiply the chances of starting my professional IT
career at one of those IT companies in Myanmar and get paid well, as the multinational
companies here are always looking for internationally qualified candidates. After
becoming a professional network security officer, I have a dream of establishing my own
networking office with a team of highly qualified technical experts to solve the burning
problem of network security in Myanmar and also help the technically interested
students to gain knowledge and skills of Network Security.
I will forever be deeply attached to my family and homeland. After completing my
course, my morals won’t let me work abroad leaving my aged parents in my country.
Therefore, it’s my moral responsibility to return to my home country and to take care of
them. They also have great hope for me. Along with this, my home country still faces
the lack of skilled professional manpower in the IT networking and network security
field. My education, experience and expertise gained in Australia will help me contribute
towards the development of my nation. Thus, I assure that I would happily return to my
home country after the completion of my course, to complete my immense responsibility
towards my family and relatives. 

As I was born in Myanmar, I believe I have got some responsibility to bring change in
my own country whether it is small or big. So, I will be working hard to improve the
network security of Myanmar. Besides that, the teaching method and material are really
outdated in most of the IT educational providers of Myanmar. So, I will try to bring
change in the teaching method according to the experience and knowledge which I will
gain from Australia. Furthermore, as being a Burmese citizen, we have our own culture
and tradition which is bonded with me. Most importantly, the ionic bond i.e. family bond
will not let me to be away from my family. So, I will return back to Myanmar and make
my career in my own country. 

So, completing my intended course from an Australian education provider, will enhance
my knowledge, practical skills and help me gain global exposure that further ensures my
professional IT career in Myanmar. I am excited to learn new things, gain skills,
education and experience in Australia which I will be utilizing later to develop myself as
mentally and financially independent. And I am very happy that #### college will be
helping me to reach my goals in life through quality education and global exposure. I
intend to return back to Myanmar as a skilled manpower with enough knowledge and be
responsible towards my family and nation. As I am the only son of my parents, I have
strong bonding with my family members and as a responsible youth, I owe huge
responsibilities towards my home country which leaves me with no reason to stay in
Australia after achieving academic qualifications.
