Introduction To Main Switchboard

The document provides details on the main switchboard and emergency switchboard for an electrical power system on a ship. The main switchboard monitors, controls, and protects the electrical generators and distribution of power to electrical loads. It contains circuit breakers to protect the generators and feed power to loads. The emergency switchboard controls and tests the emergency generator to power essential services if the main switchboard fails. Circuit breakers on both switchboards include air, motor-charging, and molded case types for protection and isolation of circuits.
