Movement in Animals

Unlike plants, animals can move from place to place using locomotion, which helps them obtain food and shelter and avoid predators. Different animals use different body parts to move - insects can walk, jump, fly or crawl, while reptiles like lizards and snakes use legs or crawl, and birds can hop, swim or fly. Aquatic animals like fish use fins to swim, while terrestrial animals like lions and elephants use four limbs, and birds also use wings or legs.
