OF INSTRUCTION AND STUDENTS BEHAVIORAL ENGAGEMENT IN
SCIENCE”. Master’s Thesis.
Adviser: MELIZA P. ALO, Ed.D
The primary purpose of the study was to determine the relationship
between the levels of teachers’ modality of instruction to the behavioral
engagement of the Grade 10 students in Science in the public secondary
schools of the Municipality of Bansalan Davao del Sur. The study used
Descriptive-correlational research and stratified random samplings were
employed. There were 316 students-respondent and 26 teachers-
respondent in 5 schools. Validated researcher made questionnaires were
the tool used in gathering the data with percentage, mean, analysis of
variance (ANOVA) and multiple regression as statistical tool.
The results revealed that there was no significant relationship
between the level of teachers’ modality of instruction and the level of
students’ behavioral engagement in learning Science in Grade 10.
Furthermore, the findings of the study disclosed that: in the part of
the behavioral aspects of the Grade 10 students towards on the mode of
i
teaching delivery the interest was in the higher rank while in setting the
mode of teaching delivery cooperating works as one of the best way to
impart learning’s in Science to Grade 10 students.
