Objective
➢ To provide safe system of work in regards to docks i.e. loading and unloading points at facilities.

Hazards At Dock
Shipments loading/unloading happens at docks. Either Manually or
using Manual Handling Equipments
Flipkart Group is committed to the prevention of injury
for employees working at docks. For that, employees
shall be aware of hazards at dock
➢ Crush by reversing Vehicle
➢ Fall from height
➢ Hit by Manual Handling Equipment
➢ Head Injury while accessing/egress from Vehicle load cabin
➢ Unintentional Movement of vehicle

Dock Safety Procedure
1. Vehicle Clearance – IRN creation shall be done and concerned department shall communicate

for entry of vehicle inside the premises.
2. Vehicle Parking – All vehicles shall be parked at docks in such a way that no space is left
between vehicle and dock leveler.

3. Key Handover – Driver shall handover the key to the security personnel at dock.
4. Wheel Chock – Security guard shall handover the wheel chock to driver and assist him in
positioning it properly.
5 6 5. Key Management – Key shall be deposited at key management board till the operations are
completed at dock.
6. Placing of Wheel chocks – Driver shall place the wheel chocks one at rear wheel and one at
front wheel

2 Material Handling Operator shall use equipment’s that are free from damages
3 Trained Operator shall only drive BOPT/AFL/Reach Truck
4 Security Personnel shall only give signals for vehicles at dock
5 Damaged flappers shall not be used and reported to Facility Management Team
All near-misses (unsafe practices and incidents which cause potential injuries) as well as accidents must be investigated and corrective actions

taken promptly.
7 No driver or cleaner shall be allowed to sleep/rest under the vehicle inside the premises
8 No flammable substances, Stoves shall be allowed to carry inside the premises
9 Drunk & Drive shall not be allowed inside the premises
