As a long time Codeigniter user, I wanted to learn Laravel
because I kept seeing Jeffrey Way's new Tuts and was
becoming a little jealous of the features. I have to admit
that I was a little overwhelmed with all the new things I
would have to learn (Composer, Artisan, Migrations,
Eloquent) but I figured Code Bright was my best option. I
read the book from front to back before I even started my
first Laravel project, and it has been incredibly helpful.
After only 2 weeks, I feel like I've been using Laravel for
months.

Also, the Laravel 4 documentation is great, but as I ran

into a few roadblocks while coding and couldn't find any
code samples online, Code Bright was an invaluable
technical resource to turn to for example code. Laravel 4
is so new that a lot of the online code samples I could find
were for Laravel 3. Code Bright has you covered.

$30 is cheap for what you get out of Code Bright. I can't
wait for future chapter updates.

Dale you ve made an excellent work. I ve bought both
your books and they really paid off my hard study. I have
built some professional projects using Laravel 3 forcing
me to quit other frameworks i was using before and now I
am trying to move on with L4. Despite my experience
unfortunately I have a bad time with new controllers way. I
mean resource and restful ones, how to pass data to them
with wildcards, create correct routing etc Another thing I
am interested in is how to pull directly from an API json or
XML data. The easiest way is to pull php data and
transform to json response immediately. Once again thank
you for inspiring me th much.

about an "upgrade price" to "code bright"? ...I am not
asking a 95% discount coupon, but it would be nice to be

I was a bit shocked when I saw the price. I know it must
have been a lot work, but ... well, where do you buy your

Before the book went live the welcome page

captured the prices people were willing to pay. This
was the lowest value recorded. I'm sorry if it seems
high, but as with code happy, the content will be
released online eventually

I recorded a lower price... Purchased the
book anyway at the current price based on
how the author hyped the content.
Understand that this is work in progress, but
it is not worth the current price. I would
check out the Laravel documentation
instead.

I'm reading the book now and need to submit a very
important correction. Stan Lee does NOT have a cameo in
every Marvel movie. He didn't appear in "Ghost Rider",
because he didn't create the character.

Excellent work Dayle. I am a newbie in PHP language.
When I first glanced at Laravel website, I got scared with
its syntax and concepts. But, when I found your site, it
started taking place automatically. I am so much thankful
to great person Taylor Otwell. Without him Laravel would
not be possible(I respect others as well, I mean Jeffrey
Way). At last but not least, thank you so much Dayle,
without you I could not at least ABC of Laravel. Thank
you!

I sent you about 4 emails the other day when you
submitted the "Authentication" chapter for consumption. I
rather be helpful than annoying so I want to make sure
that is still the best way to submit gramatical, spelling and
code errors.

Well I wrote the 4 e-mails as I was reading
the chapter, so I figured it might have
become annoying had I sent any more.

So I got thinking... I helped with the Ubuntu

Manual project which was written in LaTeX
(it's a crime if you don't use the proper letter
case I heard) and hosted via Launchpad in
a bazaar repository.

Although your book isn't free and I'm not

sure how you and the other Laravel authors
sure how you and the other Laravel authors
have been writing your books, but if you
had a git repository open to a few willing
proofreaders, we could make changes
much faster, rather than requiring a one-
man effort for all spelling and grammar
issues.
