China has always been an advanced civilization with a rich culture. From ancient times,

benefitted the whole world. The Ancient Chinese invented fireworks, paper money,
umbrellas, playing cards, kites, pasta, matches, wheelbarrows, bells, hot air balloons,
forks, toothbrushes, football, dominoes, fishing reels, and restaurant menus. Here are
some of their most famous inventions:
Printing
The Chinese printed newspapers in 700AD and books with pictures in 868AD. They
printed the first map in 1155AD. Printing changed the world. It improved education and
made information available to everyone.
The Compass
When the Chinese invented the compass between the 2nd century BC and the 1st
century AD, they used it to choose the best places to build their homes. It was an
Ancient Chinese tradition to build houses facing north. Later, the compass made some
of history’s most famous voyages possible.
Silk
The Ancient Chinese were the first people to make silk. Silk thread is made by
silkworms. The Chinese used the thread to make a soft, light material. People from
other countries traveled to China to buy silk. The trade route from Europe to China was
called the Silk Road. For hundreds of years, the Chinese kept the process of making
