General Instructions for Projects

1. Write in detail and give appropriate information of the project(Information can be taken from
internet and reference books).
2. Reference to internet, published works, books, videos, pictures is allowed. However the
student must not copy the text as it is from that downloaded from the internet and above
resources.
3. Information taken from the internet or books must be credited to the book or the website
and written in the student’s own words and not copied directly from internet word to word.
4. Student will not copy from anybody, whatever the case – either siblings or friends.
5. The content may be written in a booklet or a chart. A model, if prepared must be
accompanied with a write-up of atleast 3-4 pages. Detailed information must be given in
each subject. Students must not use red, purple, pink, and lavender coloured pens for
writing or colouring.
6. A booklet presentation should be atleast 8-10 pages and that must include some pictures
also.
7. For preparing a model, things that are easily available at home should be used.
8. Projects must be done by the student. Parents may help in terms of suggestions and
gathering information. Professional help is not to be taken under any circumstances.
9. The cost of the model must not be too high.
10. Draw diagrams wherever possible. Label them.(Print-out will be allowed where drawing is
not possible like for maps).
11. If child is not submitting video/project on time, zero mark will be awarded.
12. You can make project presentation through a video made in a mobile / laptop / zoom video /
power point presentation.
13. The time duration of your video should be 3 to 5 minutes.
14. While making video, you should be formally dressed.
15. Before sending video, please check the voice clarity and video quality of your presentation.
16. You will be sending the video in the previous week of submission date to your respective
subject teachers. (Please refer the dates of submission given)

Select any one of the following topics:


Project 1. Read any one of the following books. Choose one character that you identify with.
Write about the character and how you relate to him/her in about 300-350 words.

2. A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie
3. Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevnenson (unabridged)
4. Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie

Make sure your write up covers the following points:


1. Who is your favourite character and how you relate to the character
2. Critically analysing the decisions made by the character
3. How the character could have reacted differently in a particular situation.

Guidelines for Project 1.

1. The students who take up this project will have to read one of these books at home.
It should not be an abridged or adapted version.
2. The project must be original and not copied from the net or any other source either
wholly or partially.
3. The project must be at least 250 words long.
4. All the aspects of the project should be detailed and divided into proper paragraphs
5. You may write an introduction to the novel at the beginning
6. You may stick pictures or make your own illustrations in the project
7. The project must be on A4 size paper and submitted in the form of a booklet or in a
file
Project 2. Select a poem by any one of the following poets. Write what appealed to you and
how you can relate to it. Write a short passage on this in about 250-300 words.

Guidelines for Project 2


1. The project must be original and not copied from the net or any other source either
wholly or partially.
2. Your assignment should be handwritten and submitted in a file.
3. Adhere to the word limit. Your assignment should be properly paragraphed.
4. You must bring a personal touch to your assignment by including your life
experiences.
5. Do attach a copy of the poem in your project.

Project 3. You are a blogger. Write a blog in a magazine for any one of the following columns-
1. Food (self made/home made/own recipes)
2. Memories (own/parents/grandparents)
3. Fashion (designer)

Guidelines for Project 3


1. The project must be original and not copied from the net or any other source either
wholly or partially.
2. Your assignment should be handwritten and submitted in a file.
3. Write your assignment in 300-350 words. Adhere to the word limit. Your assignment
should be properly paragraphed.
4. Make sure that your blog is written in your own language.
5. Your write up should give a fair idea to the audience. So write the blog in great
detail.

1. The American Revolution saw number of events at different places. Choose any
three cities associated with the American War of Independence and explain those
events of American War. Do attach a map showing location of these cities in US map
along with general details about that city. (1-2 pages)
(For e.g. geographical location, tourist spots, population, culture, etc)

2. Choose any one set of leaders from below. Explain any three similarities and
differences in detail based on their achievement, ideology, etc. Ensure that most of
the points covered in the similarities & difference are supported with facts.

articles to support your explanation of civic amenities.

1. Why Ahmedabad was known as the ‘Manchester of India’? What difficulties did the city
face in the last fifty years in relation to this? What is the state of Ahmedabad in this
regard today?

2. Select five smart cities in the world and then research on the factors that make them a
smart city. Make a report on your findings with pictures and maps.

3. Identify five animals in Asia that are on the verge of extinction. Explore the geographical
reasons for their extinction. Make a study of the regions or countries that they are
found in. Prepare a report on what is being done by the respective government to save
the animals.
