Warehousing companies in Vietnam mainly develop their services in storage of commercial
goods, storage of personal effects, and bonded warehouse. Goods are stored in which depending
on their type of products including storage of hazardous goods, wood storage, glass storage, and
storage of food products.

More than 70% of the warehouse area is located in the southern region. Companies that
provide warehouse services: The southern area: Saigon Newport, Mapletree, Sotrans,
Gemadept, Vinafco, DHL, YCH- Protrade, Damco, Transimex, IndoTrans, Draco...; The northern
area: Vinafco, Saigon Newport, Mapletree, Draco, IndoTrans, ... It is noticeable that Saigon
Newport with a total area of 675000 m2 warehouse, including CFS, warehouse bonded
warehouse, department store and distribution center is the largest warehouse service provider
in the country.

cold warehouse rental services in Can Tho to preserve seafood is increasing. And the demand for
short-term warehouse rental in Can Tho has also increased rapidly.

Impact of covid-19 opportunities of toward VN’s warehouse sector.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a strong impact on the economies and social life of the world,

upsetting global supply chains, including warehouse services. Many factories have to reduce

operations, so the amount of goods can access to clients is less, leading to a decrease in the

transportation and delivery of goods. As a result, goods are stored in warehouse for a long time,

called “ More inventory on Hand”. It means that companies need more cold storages and

warehouse rental fees increase. In September 2020, the number of newly established logistics

enterprises decreased by 5.3% compared to the same span time last year. From the beginning of
the year to the end of September 2020, 485 transport and warehousing enterprises in our country

have completed the dissolution procedures (Ministry of Industry and Trade, 2020). Many small

and medium logistics enterprises are on the verge of bankruptcy; Many workers will be laid off

and lose their jobs if the pandemic lasts for a while longer.

During the pandemic, the demand for online shopping increase significantly. Therefore, it is a

chance for suppliers to develop their processes, technologies, and professional human resources.

The increasing in teachnology application leads to some benefits such as increasing labor

productivity, cutting costs, improving business stategy, boosting logistics tracking efficiency and

product lifecycle management, and stengthen operational systems.
