Guidline To Setting Zero Reference Points

The document provides instructions for adjusting the reference positions of various axes (B, C, Y, X) on a Russian CNC pipe bending machine. It involves using the machine's control panel to enter an axis reference point setting page, then using a hand wheel to manually move each axis to a specified position or orientation before setting it as the new reference point. Re-adjusting the reference points helps ensure accurate bending for different pipe diameters and tooling configurations.

Re-adjust the B-axis reference position
█ Turn on the PUMP, Then, on the Machine Setting page, click 4 times on the rectangular
spot to enter the axis reference point setting page. (Press down the SAFETY ENSURE button all
the while until successfully enter the reference point setting page, if there are SAFETY ENSURE
buttons on the machine.)
Re-adjust the B-axis reference position
█ First, press “USE HAND WHEEL” for B-axis, to move the collet (B-axis, turning axis) by the
pulse generator. (The icon of it will change from grey to colorful).
Re-adjust the B-axis reference position
█ Then, rotate the collet by the pulse generator to the position where one piece of the jaws
is in the bottom, as illustrated in the following photo.
Re-adjust the B-axis reference position
█ Before press the “REFERENCE SET” of B-AXIS, the HAND WHEEL must be rotated for more
than 40 circles, so that the servo system can keep the position. So when moving the collet to
the above illustrated position, make sure the HAND WHEEL has been rotated for more than 40
circles.
(1st step) Press “USE HAND WHEEL” of B-axis again, its rectangle will change from colorful to
grey, next, (2nd step) press “USE CURRENT POSITION” of B-axis, (3rd step) To press and release
EMS button to get out of the axis reference point setting page, then this re-adjusting
procedure is done.

Re-adjust the C-axis reference position
█ Turn on the PUMP, Then, on the Machine Setting page, click 4 times on the rectangular
spot to enter the axis reference point setting page. (Press down the SAFETY ENSURE button all
the while until successfully enter the reference point setting page, if there are SAFETY ENSURE
buttons on the machine.)
Re-adjust the C-axis reference position
█ First, press “USE HAND WHEEL” of the C-AXIS, to move the bending arm (C-axis) by the
pulse generator (The icon of it will change from grey to colorful).
Re-adjust the C-axis reference position
█ Then, move the bending arm by the pulse generator to the position where the bending
arm is in parallel with the pressure die base, as illustrated in the following photo. You may
measure with a caliper.
Re-adjust the C-axis reference position
█ Before press the “USE CURRENT POSITION” of C-AXIS, the HAND WHEEL must be rotated for
more than 40 circles, so that the servo system can keep the position. So when moving the
bending arm to be in parallel with the pressure die base, make sure the HAND WHEEL has
been rotated for more than 40 circles.
(1st step) Press “USE HAND WHEEL” of C-axis again, its rectangle will change from colorful to
grey, then, (2 nd step) press “USE CURRENT POSITION” of C-axis, (3rd step) To press and release
EMS button to get out of the axis reference point setting page, then this re-adjusting

Re-adjust the Y-axis reference position
█ Turn on the PUMP, Then, on the Machine Setting page, click 4 times on the rectangular
spot to enter the axis reference point setting page. (Press down the SAFETY ENSURE button all
the while until successfully enter the reference point setting page, if there are SAFETY ENSURE
buttons on the machine.)
Re-adjust the Y-axis reference position
█ First, press “USE HAND WHEEL” for Y-axis, to move the carriage (Y-axis, feeding axis) by the

Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ First, remove the mandrel rod from the machine.
█ Collet clamps a tube, and rotate the B-axis in the manual mode, to adjust the run-out of
the tube, using a dial-gauge. The run-out tolerance is 0.05mm.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position

█ Keep down the installed bending die radius. For this set of tooling, the radius is 43mm.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ In manual mode, moves the X-axis (bending die) toward the tube.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ In manual mode, and use hand wheel (pulse generator) to move the X-axis.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ When the tube and the groove of bending die attaches to each other, this is the fine
position.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ In manual mode, change the X-axis controlling method back to “BY PUSH BUTTON”.
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ Turn on the PUMP, Then, on the Machine Setting page, click 4 times on the rectangular
spot to enter the axis reference point setting page. (Press down the SAFETY ENSURE button all
the while until successfully enter the reference point setting page, if there are SAFETY ENSURE
buttons on the machine.)
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ First, press “ REFERENCE SET” of the [ X-AXIS ], the [ X-AXIS ] position will change to 240mm.
(This reference value is different for different machine models.)

240

X-axis value will change to:

“REFERENCE
SET”
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ Then, press “USE HAND WHEEL” function of [ X-AXIS ], its icon becomes colorful, to move
the [ X-AXIS ] to the correct reference position. And the correct reference position is
calculated by:
[(Machine Reference Point Value — Installed Bending Die Radius)+Machine Reference Point
Value].
For this example, the Machine Reference Point Value is 240mm, and the Installed Bending Die
Radius is 43mm. Thus, [(240mm — 43mm)+240mm]=437mm.
Then, move the [ X-AXIS ] away from the tube by the HAND WHEEL until the [ X-AXIS ] Position
on the screen shows 437mm.

240
Move the X-axis to the correct
reference position: [(240-43) +
240]=437mm “Use hand
437mm
wheel”
Re-adjust the X-axis reference position
█ Before press the “REFERENCE SET” of the [ X-AXIS ], the HAND WHEEL must be rotated for
more than 40 circles, so that the servo system can keep the position. So when moving the
collet to the correct [ X-AXIS ] reference position (437mm), make sure the HAND WHEEL has
been rotated for more than 40 circles.
When the [ X-AXIS ] Position is 437mm. (1st step) Press “USE HAND WHEEL” of [ X-AXIS ] again,
its icon becomes grey, then, (2nd step) press “REFERENCE SET” of [ X-AXIS ]. Now the [ X-AXIS ]
position will change back to 240mm. (3rd step) To press and release EMS button to get out of
the axis reference point setting page, then this re-adjusting procedure is done.
