Grammar. The simple present tense: spelling rules with he, she, and it.

We add -s to the base form of most verbs.


eats gets undressed takes a shower
We add -es to verbs that end in -s, -sh, -ch or -x .
watches TV brushes

Practice. Complete each statement. Use simple present tense.

1. Mike (take) a shower at 6:00 in the morning. Silvia, his sister, (take) a

shower at 7:30 A.M.

2. Mike (eat) breakfast at 7:30 A.M., but Silvia (eat) breakfast at 8:00.

3. Silvia (put) on her makeup at 8:30, and Mike (brush) his teeth.

4. They both (go) to work at 8:45.

5. Mike (eat) lunch at 12:30, but Silvia (eat) lunch at 1:00.

6. They (come) home at about 6:00 P.M.

7. Before dinner, Mike (watch) TV, and Silvia (take) a bath.
